Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ay--was so tired I left the work site a little after 4pm, got to the hotel, checked in and all, read a little b.org, email, etc, but was too tired to respond, was all lying on the bed, thinking "OK, i'll get up and go to the mall and read and shop and get dinner..." and fell asleep for three hours. Until my phone rang.

So I ended up eating dinner in the hotel restaurant. Bad choice, but it was 9pm and I was too tired and hungry to go anywhere. Terrible food, awful service, AND, when the food finally came and they handed me a ketchup bottle for the fries, I tried to shake it and the lid flew off and ketchup flew EVERYWHERE, all over me, all over the table, it was awful!! I tried to wipe it all off me with water and she brought me some club soda, I'm hoping it doesn't stain. Eep.

ugh. that sucks meara.

meara - Aug 05, 2008 8:25:50 pm PDT #9911 of 10001

Yeah. On the bright side, I managed to track down hot pictures of me in drag on the internet to send to a girl I've been flirting with, even though I don't have my home computer with me (where i have them bookmarked). Score!

(here in case any of you haven't seen them in a while)

And the nap means I should be well rested tomorrow. And the ringing phone was my best friend, who entertained me with her tales of dating woe, while I tried to give her good flirting advice. I think I'm feeling less ridiculously PMS-y than I was the past several days. Not that I should've been feeling that way at ALL (hellloo, artificial hormones??) but...

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sorry to hear about the epic ketchup fail on top of the rest of the cruddy meal, meara. Great pics, though.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Ew, ketchup. Sorry to hear about that, meara. I did that twice in one holiday (my second trip to the States); each incident a week apart and one occasion the ketchup hit someone else too.

Yeah, good times, good times...

Good grief, we have only 90 posts to close the thread! I suppose it's a bit of a stretch to hope we can blather our way to the big 10K tonight.

90 posts isn't much, but at 11:15 board time on a weeknight? I'm doubting we can do it. We tend to value quality over quantity, and I think I'm fine with that--I think I'd be annoyed if I came here in the morning and it was 90 posts of nothing but like, one word posts--I'd be all excited at first thinking something big must've happened!

I'm glad now the ketchup only got on me and my table! The place was pretty empty. If it had gotten on other people I'd have been mortified! And also glad that I wasn't planning to re-wear anything I had on. On business trips sometimes I wear a jacket or pants or something twice, mix-and-match and all that, or whatever, depending on how the trip is and such, but not this time. Thank goodness!

Though I do usually only bring one pair of work shoes (and usually one pair of more comfy shoes). This time I just bought a new pair and wanted to wear them---they're navy loafers with red piping, and so every outfit this week is navy and red. It's a little over the top, but it amuses me. Over-coordination. Uberpreppy. I feel all Ralph Lauren/JCrew.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Dear God, Scrappy. I'm so sorry. I hope you hear from/of him soon, love. That poor guy.

DJ, you've been hanging in there for her, but it seems pretty clear that at this point there's not much you can do to help your (B)F(F). And the fact that she's being so dodgy around you pretty much speaks for itself there - she's choosing The Guy over you, and on some level she knows that he's a pillock, exactly as you keep telling her, but she's either denying it to herself, or pretending that it's a temporary thing.

Honestly, love, I think you just need to take a step back at this point.

(Ha! Meara clearly doing her best to get through those 90 posts there!)

I'm wincing about your ketchup shamblefest. (And yet the prospect of Peeves getting ketchupped, and ketchupping over perfect strangers, does make me giggle. Um. Possibly because he's usually so impeccable? Or possibly because, you know, goretastic. A sneaky way to pull hot vampire chicks and their demon bunny sidekicks, perhaps?)

Nice drag king pics, though, love!

Also - BLESS the kitties! Were there pictures of Momo at any point? Did I miss them?

And I agree that 42 should certainly involve questions or answers. Hmm.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

aw Meara, sorry to hear about Ketchup-fest 2008. Maybe if you advertise ahead of time, you'll get more patrons. Market it as a "Gallaghar" type of affair, and to bring tarp and all. IJS. Just an idea. a brainstorm. Use it, or not. Aw hell, it's 3am, clearly from this post I should go to bed.

What I am wondering now is, why the hell is Sci-Fi channel airing the Stargate SG-1 episodes in crazy random orders. A few from season 4, then a bunch from season 8, then jump to halfway through season 9, then back to 7. C'mon people! I want to watch it in order! I'm up to season 7, and they are only airing mid season 8. WHATEVER.

t /whining

off to bed. I'm sure by the time I can read b.org, we will be in 42. Spikes 42 - WE are the answer. Fuck the mice.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, meara, what a night!

Timelies all! Let's get this thread moving!

Um...content. So, I'm thinking about my final project for my summer class. I probably should have done that before now, but better late than never, right?
