Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Spike's Bitches 42: What was the question again?

I'm partial to this one. Quotes are lovesome things, God wot, but there simply must be an acknowledgment of the Great Number, or what's a geekdom for?

Best Freudian slip ever: (I mean, aside from the girl who eventually became our high school class salutatorian calling our 10th grade history teacher "Beer Belly") Daniel referring to CuteOverload.com as CuteOverlord.

scrappy, I'll be the optimist, maybe he checked into a rehab.

DJ, have I met this BFF?

So big bosses daughter has serious arm breakage. Dislocated elbow, both bones in forarm broke, and something or other with the wrist. No clue how she is doing, but I'm guessing no family vacation.

ION, there is a temporary lull in the heat wave. I've got the front door and sliding glass door open, getting a nice breeze. A cool 83f.

Ay--was so tired I left the work site a little after 4pm, got to the hotel, checked in and all, read a little b.org, email, etc, but was too tired to respond, was all lying on the bed, thinking "OK, i'll get up and go to the mall and read and shop and get dinner..." and fell asleep for three hours. Until my phone rang.

So I ended up eating dinner in the hotel restaurant. Bad choice, but it was 9pm and I was too tired and hungry to go anywhere. Terrible food, awful service, AND, when the food finally came and they handed me a ketchup bottle for the fries, I tried to shake it and the lid flew off and ketchup flew EVERYWHERE, all over me, all over the table, it was awful!! I tried to wipe it all off me with water and she brought me some club soda, I'm hoping it doesn't stain. Eep.

Yeah. On the bright side, I managed to track down hot pictures of me in drag on the internet to send to a girl I've been flirting with, even though I don't have my home computer with me (where i have them bookmarked). Score!

(here in case any of you haven't seen them in a while)

And the nap means I should be well rested tomorrow. And the ringing phone was my best friend, who entertained me with her tales of dating woe, while I tried to give her good flirting advice. I think I'm feeling less ridiculously PMS-y than I was the past several days. Not that I should've been feeling that way at ALL (hellloo, artificial hormones??) but...

Sorry to hear about the epic ketchup fail on top of the rest of the cruddy meal, meara. Great pics, though.

Ew, ketchup. Sorry to hear about that, meara. I did that twice in one holiday (my second trip to the States); each incident a week apart and one occasion the ketchup hit someone else too.

Yeah, good times, good times...

Good grief, we have only 90 posts to close the thread! I suppose it's a bit of a stretch to hope we can blather our way to the big 10K tonight.

90 posts isn't much, but at 11:15 board time on a weeknight? I'm doubting we can do it. We tend to value quality over quantity, and I think I'm fine with that--I think I'd be annoyed if I came here in the morning and it was 90 posts of nothing but like, one word posts--I'd be all excited at first thinking something big must've happened!

I'm glad now the ketchup only got on me and my table! The place was pretty empty. If it had gotten on other people I'd have been mortified! And also glad that I wasn't planning to re-wear anything I had on. On business trips sometimes I wear a jacket or pants or something twice, mix-and-match and all that, or whatever, depending on how the trip is and such, but not this time. Thank goodness!

Though I do usually only bring one pair of work shoes (and usually one pair of more comfy shoes). This time I just bought a new pair and wanted to wear them---they're navy loafers with red piping, and so every outfit this week is navy and red. It's a little over the top, but it amuses me. Over-coordination. Uberpreppy. I feel all Ralph Lauren/JCrew.
