Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Red's or something in your neck of the woods?

Red's! My go-to when I'm playing hooky during the week.

Had a lovely lunch at the Gulu-Gulu. The key is don't go there too hungry and understand that the hipsters are disorganized and you can have a lovely lunch. I had 2 pints of Ommegang Hennepin and a brie and apple crepe.

Now I'm watching Law & Order on the Tivo.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

...and that damn smiling cat, too...

Shoot me.

Ann, that's a ferret.

"Learn the language. At least learn key phrases so that you can get help if you need it. I had trouble the first time I went to Europe because I didn't speak any French or British."

The sad part is, until those last two words, the advice makes fairly good sense.

The only real language-based embarrassment I can think of for Americans to get into in the British Isles (U.K. and Ireland) is to call a fanny pack by that name.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I just added two old high school friends on Facebook. Now I'm feeling all conflicty about it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'd be jealous, but I was at the Publick House last night where I had, among other things, a McChouffe and a St. Bernardus (sp?). They are teh yum. Also, Allagash Summer is very tasty as well. Had a pub plate for dinner which was also yummy (cheddar, aged gouda, sopresetta (sp?), a sort of beef proscuitto I've forgotten the name of, smoked marinated mushrooms, fried herbed polenta cubes, heirloom tomatos and a hunk of French bread - nom, nom, nom).

I always go there after I have to go to the Sleep Therapy center in Brighton. For some reason, I thought Jars was going to be here yesterday when I replied to the mail list, until I went back and double-checked the date. Since I don't have that to worry about, I will be at CBC next Thursday by 5 pm, I'm guessing.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Why?

I added some people I haven't ever been really close to in High School, but we all pretty much got along, and it's been awesome seeing how they're doing.

I had 2 pints of Ommegang Hennepin

Yum!
