No. And yes. It's always sudden.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

no, it's not graded, it's for my summer program. I'm going with disappointment, because I am. The utter lack of respect for me and the deadline is depressing.

Theoretically, I can reduce their stipend, but the paperwork would be a pain in the ass since it's already set up.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Can you do something fun like make them sit around all day because "studends who didn't get their presentations in on time cannot be placed on the regular schedule and will need to be fit in where available"?

Thrive to spite them

Quick Parent Hive Mind question.

My brother was asking Mom for recommendations for parenting books. My brother and SIL don't have a lot of with kids especially babies.

Any suggestions for books that might be good for them?

Also at my SIL's last dr's appointment she was dialated 1.5cm. I think that's right.

Anyway nephew is coming soon!

Because books.

My favorite parenting book is Penelope Leach's Your Baby and Child. Covers birth to five, and she's completely no-nonsense and wonderful.

Mostly lurking...

I'm a whiner.

My mouth hurts, and I can't fall asleep. And I look gross. And feel gross.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I second Amy's rec. When Lillian was younger, especially, I called it "The Manual."

It's excellent.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Vortex, thank you for the reminder of the pretty, pretty people. The pics of John Barrowman in kilts makes me think he should film an enactment of this [link] folk song.
