[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Congratulations, Susan! That's great news.

We've got Sectional Championships today. Our town hasn't won Section at any level in a long long time so it'd be a big deal. Wish us luck!

Hit 'em where they ain't! (Also -- GOOD LUCK!!!)

ION, and semi-xposted with Great Write, I won second place in science fiction/fantasy at the Pacific NW Writers Association Literary Contest tonight!

Susan, that's awesome!!! That's got to feel SO GREAT.

When I got home from the winners' after party with editors and agents, Annabel was still awake. She and DH had gone to the aquarium this morning, and she'd been waiting up to tell me about the giant octopus and to give me the key chain with my name on it she'd picked out from the gift shop. I gave her my name tag with the finalist and second place ribbons (which I'd promised her after I came home still wearing the badge on Thursday and she was admiring the finalist ribbon), along with the plush dragon I got for her at the bookstore room. She loved both gifts, and it was just a very good mommy moment, somehow.

Awww. So sweet. Plus -- you got a keychain!

guess who I was just on the phone with for 25 minutes? Yup, Time Warner Cable. Seems both my cable and Internet are out. Not even a full day with it. They'll be sending a technician around tomorrow.

So adorable. Fairyland is right across the street from my old office. Did you see the new Cathedral? My office was right behind it.

I'm being a lazy sod this morning. Haven't progressed out of my room yet.

Omnis - Comcast did that to me too. Day two of having service and it was out. Is this some standard thing no one ever mentions?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am plum tuckered out after an eventful night. J reviews motorcycles as well as cars, and we took the latest over the hill to see Dark Night with some friends. All went well until it was time to go home and the bike wouldn't start. We called our friends and they kindly came back to give us a jump. We were parked right next to a small park which was PACKED with people in costumes on bikes, prepping for a Midnight bike ride-rave, so that added a nice Fellini-esque touch to the proceedings. The dang bike started with the jump and then promptly died. Finally, about 1:00 am, J got a hold of a motorcylce towing company. I wanted to stay with him, but he did not want me hanging out on the streets of LA at 1am. He stayed with the bike and friends drove me home.

He got in about 2:30, poor guy. This is NOT going to be good for the bike's review, I can tell you that much! At least the tow was free.
