One more tiny little piece of goodness for today? My Audio Technica 4050 multipattern microphone arrived today, too. I have a very nice, mid-range microphone for my sound design work (and for potential rental -- it's a nice mic).
It's normally a $600 microphone, and I found it on eBay for $400.
And I just tried to lie down for a nap, and wound up just staring at the ceiling for a while.
Sorry for the Tom's funk, Nora, and hugs to Sean. Just because there's a lot going on doesn't mean you can't rant and whine and seek hairpats here, love. We're not in the business of competing for the worst personal tragedy. We're in the business of helping each other survive everything.

Okay, so one of my colleagues and I decided to have lunch today and bitch about our jobs. She is one of the few colleagues I like and respect. Decision is up to me, so I think about an irish pub type place with good sandwiches. I decide, no, it's too close to work. So we drive several blocks away. We're at our table, I'm bitching about something, and she gets this weird look on her face and changes the subject. I turn around, and IT'S ASSHAT!BOSS!!!!!! I can't get away!!!!

Well, pooh. My apt. bldg. has a pool for tenant use. Not big or fancy, but hey! Pool. Anyway, I go out there this afternoon with the hopes of swimming a few laps and reading. I even got a lounge chair in the shade which my very pale skin appreciates.
After 45 minutes, I had to come in. Three of my students showed up to swim, 2 of whom I like and 1 of whom I so do not. The pool is for tenants and I know they don't live there because I don't live in the boundaries for my school, but they have friends/relatives who live there and swim with them. Really, I don't mind the kids swimming there. I just don't want to be hanging out with them, you know?
