Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
To be honest, megan? I didn't realize your inheritance was still tied up. I am very sorry for that.
Yes, a 10-year trust to attempt to repair the damage of not signing a pre-nup in a community property state. It's not a ton of money of anything, but it should cover my grad school debt. Sadly, my sister controls it and actually invests in single stocks. It drives me crazy. My major goal right now is to pay off my debt early by myself since I can't really count on what she may or may not do with it.
Of course, that's not what I said. I think I said something like, "Yeah well, I don't think you should complain about your mother anymore because at least you have a mother!" *rolls eyes at self*
I probably think this far too often to be healthy.
ETA: A thank you to juliana for her apology.

This morning, while listening to a favorite album - They Might Be Giant's Flood - I realized that I have been a fan of this band for more than half my life! (since age 16). I started thinking about other music I liked then and how they have stood the test of time.
TMBG- Still have HUGE TMBG love. HUGE.
Beatles- Same, though the passion has gone.
Depeche Mode - hmmm, well. I still have a couple albums on the iPod and I'm generally pretty pleased when one comes up on shuffle. But seriously, if I listen to a whole album it sounds like a pretentious college kid trying to get a 15 year old in bed 'cause he's SO DEEP.
Dee-lite- not so much, though I haven't heard them for years. I'd probably be pretty psyched to hear "Groove Is In The Heart" at a wedding, though.
Christy Moore/Van Morrison/Irish troubador types: NSM
My other HUGE LOVE 4EVA!!!11!!!! band is the Beastie Boys and I didn't get into them till college.
I feel like there's one more I was thinking of during my walk, but I can't recall.
But seriously, if I listen to a whole album it sounds like a pretentious college kid trying to get a 15 year old in bed 'cause he's SO DEEP.
Bwah!! Well put, Nora. Well put.
I will say that "I Just Can't Get Enough" is one of the best songs of the 80s, but I agree with you on too much Depeche Mode being a bad thing.
Kathy, what was the song that you requested at Prom that we all danced crazily too?! I've been trying to remember ever since.
I kissed a girl?
The Communards cover version of "Don't Leave Me This Way". (Can't remember who originally sang it, though.) Love that song!!!
Thelma Houston? At least that's who sings it on my copy of "Pure Disco"!
Thelma Houston! That's her. I was thinking Gloria Gaynor, but I knew that was wrong.
