I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Do they text? Maybe you could send a gentle text, and they can respond if they feel up to it.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe I'll try that.

Well, I texted but haven't heard anything back. I have a bad feeling about all of this, and it breaks my heart. I feel responsible, which my brain knows is ridiculous. But, still. I'm going to feel terrible if this all happened on my watch.

Oh, honey. It would have happened no matter who was watching. It just sucks extra-special that it was you.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I just want to wrap every single animal I see from now on in bubble wrap; it just feels like the universe is being extra-hard on beloved pets lately (rationally I know it's because so many of these pets are so well loved and cared for that they're just very, very old, but irrationally it feels very Not Fair).

And I wish there was someone I could run up to and punch in the gut on Steph's and Erin's behalf (behalves?). Hating all the stress and worry and gloom for two people who are so very good at what they do and the people lucky enough to have them OUGHT TO KNOW IT.

Fay, I am in complete envious but delighted awe of your play-performing, ad-doing self.

My holiday weekend went thus: Friday, met with juliana to do a video audition for a fan contest for Mad Men.

Saturday, took Matilda to the carousel in the park. Also, discovered that if I accidentally break wind in front of her, she will not only growl and roar in imitation but then run behind me and start shoving me in the ass as if she's trying to stuff it back in there.

Today, had much trivial but fun giggling and snuzzling with Matilda; played back the video audition and found out that while juliana is an awesome director and I looked much less horrid than I'd feared, the clips can't be edited and won't upload even to my hard drive, much less to the website. Am v. v. annoyed.

Hallo all...I am quickly catching up before picking up my friend Genesis at the airport for her two months in Seattle, whoot!! She stays with me for the first week or so, then gets a sublet. Meanwhile, I spent most of the day....canoodling. Ahem. Wheeeeeeeeee!

And when a lesbian thinks it's fast--it's damned fast

Oh, I'm atypical. I don't utter the L-word (the four letter one, not "Lesbian") until a long long time has passed. I've only said it to one person, ever. I am not two dates and a UHaul. Though I do not object to speed in other directions. Ahem. See above.

Erin, that sucks. And you should totally check Craigslist or Freecycle (if those are active in KC) for a DVD player.

Plus, everyone in my department had to sign something agreeing to have NO radio, NO music, no personal calls unless they are an actual emergency, and no internet use beyond that which is necessary for work.

And the others of COURSE abuse. Jackass douchebags. Damn.

We have really good healthcare, so I am going to get new glasses, get my teeth cleaned, etc.

Hells to the fuckin' yeah.

If the coworkers ask about the 10 hour days, can't you just say "We discussed it, and decided I am going part time, 32 hours a week"? Then it makes it sound like your decision, rather than theirs.

Ended up taking her to the ER. Her mom is with her now. But, they might put her down. I'm really sad.

Oh no, VW, that is so awful!!

The status is NOT quo.

{{{Buffista and friends of Buffista pets}}} I agree with JZ--I want to bubble wrap everyone's animals.

Teppy and Erin, I am filled with helpless rage at what you've been through with asshat employers. I have to believe you will both find kickass jobs, because you both kick ass. It sucks that you have to feel this way, though. I hate it. I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but all I have is hugs for you and virtual ass-kickings to your bosses. (Do I get bonus points for all the uses of "kick" and "ass" in this paragraph?)

Fay, how cool! I hope you have a great experience in any and all ad or movie filming. And of *course* they want you--you're fabulous!

JZ, that mental image of Matilda...oh dear. I'm giggling over here. Am very sorry to hear about your video woes, however.

I feel like I've been run over by a truck. Drew and I got up at 7 this morning to drive down to Disneyland/California Adventure to meet up with his visiting cousin and her daughter. We spent twelve hours in the parks today. Twelve. We just got home about 45 minutes ago, and I plan to be comatose shortly. They are staying with us the next two nights, and tomorrow our mission is Universal Studios. We're doing Hollywood and possibly Griffith Observatory on Tuesday. (I also need to get 11 more feedback emails for my online class written and sent out before midnight on Tuesday.) Wednesday is frantic laundry and packing since we have a red eye Wednesday night to Connecticut. At this rate, my vacation may kill me.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

If the coworkers ask about the 10 hour days, can't you just say "We discussed it, and decided I am going part time, 32 hours a week"? Then it makes it sound like your decision, rather than theirs.

But then I expect my co-workers to follow up with "But WHY are you going part-time?" Well,*some* wouldn't pry, but most would. Everyone is always all up in each other's business.

If they ask *why,* I'm going to just smile and say, "Personal reasons."

I *think* that Big!Boss's daughter will e-mail everyone a list of everyone else's hours, because everyone was given a choice of what 10-hour shift they want to work, and Big!Boss's daughter wants everyone to know when everyone else is available instead of just wondering.

So I figure THAT should take care of people wondering if I'm part time or just trying to shaft the company out of money by coming in late and leaving early.

So, yippee. It all starts today. Gotta roll out the door in a few minutes, because it would look bad to be late on my first day of You're Lucky To Even HAVE A Job, You Slacker.

t edit Needless to say, I'll be scarce to nonexistent on the Interbunny from 9 to 5.
