Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I just held up my cell phone to my forehead and intoned "Call me, (school name)! Call me. CAAALLLLL MEEEEE."

Maybe it will work! I was very sincere.

No, I didn't call them, because I checked my work horoscope (which said you're on your own; friends might not offer proper support) and then I read your comment.

I don't believe in astrology, per se, but I am freakin' out. a little.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'd agree with meara -- aside from giving them until their own deadline, there's the simple human fact that with the holiday weekend, half the committee is already off for the holiday and the other half is watching and rewatching the piano-playing cat on YouTube and not noticing that the "new email" indicator is bouncing up and down annoyingly at them.

I mean, look at us!

Ooh, piano playing cat!

I mean, I am sure you are right.

On the other hand, I totally get that. But we can amuse and distract you and get you virtual-drunk on internet margaritas!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Happy Anniversary to Beverly & DH!

Happy Birthday, sj!

Yay, Fred Pete's cat!

The status is NOT quo.

am completely mad at CTY for pixkristin. get your shit together peoples. that's ridiculous.

and a similar sort of thing happened to me my first semester with them 10 years ago. it got better, once I was finally in the database.

Aw, thanks Sox. I finally did find out that I can add the requisition to the form I already filled out, so I won't have to redo the entire thing. THANK GOD.

Just for fun, though, let me tell you all that I have now filled out eight release forms including background check and checks on all of my colleges and school jobs. I need to fax them today.

I got tax forms, too, and now I have these instrcutions:

Hi Kristin,
I apologize for the confusion but you were never technically hired into our system. I need to process the release forms (esp. background check) to get you on payroll. The tax forms, including the Form I-9 which needs to be notarized, are attached.

1- We will need you to fill in the attached forms to complete your payroll account. We will need to view the original documents for the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. A list of acceptable documents is shown in the instructions on the I-9 form. Because you will not be able to visit us in person, you may have the Form I-9 notarized and send the original copy of the notary's certification with your I-9 by regular mail.

2- Please sign on to JHUJobs [link] and apply for Requisition 36203. You originally applied to our "master" requisition. This one is specifically for your payroll account.

3- Please answer these questions for payroll input:
Nationality (ie: US American, etc)
Residence status: (US citizen, resident alien, etc)
VISA type (if appl):
Emergency Contact Information: (Name, address, zip, phone);

If you have any questions, please call or e-mail me.
