Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I know, Amy! I should have gotten two copies and just mailed one to Jilli immediately.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I'm watching the USA airing of the olympic trials for track and I know these people! It's very exciting.

I wonder how much I've missed.

I've had a delish dinner of steak, fennel/carrot/garlic/olive oil, and Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc wine. So yummy!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Suzi, could you afford to buy a used car really cheap -- like something from an ad in the classifieds for $1 or 2K?

I was going to suggest $400-500. It works for me and Daniel pretty well. Plus if you can find one of those "Push, pull, or drive it in, your trade in is worth $___" sales when it is time to buy the real car, it could kinda turn a profit.

Speaking of which - in my country "laying a table" involves tablecloth, napkins, cutlery and a marked absence of exposed genitalia. But whatever floats your boats.

BWAH!

Also, Laura's link to The Terrible Loom may give me nightmares.

Oh, pish.

No advice for you Suzi, but good luck.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Also, Laura's link to The Terrible Loom may give me nightmares.

Wait for the sequels, Ultimate Loom and Loom 3.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Here's something interesting..

KFC is having a "Hotter than Hell" contest to promote their new hot wings.

I did not accomplish much today. But I did manage to find my checkbook. Sadly, this was not because I *cleaned* or anything. It had slipped underneath a rolling cabinet thing I have. I was starting to freak out. I was like "I know the damn thing must be in my house SOMEWHERE, but where THE HELL could it be??" I hadn't seen it in a month or more, since I paid last month's rent. And then I put it somewhere...and it disappeared (fell beneath the cabinet, apparently!). And it had my checkbook and stamps and envelopes where I send the rent to, and I was like "I need this by tomorrow!!!"

So, date tomorrow: picnic on the beach? or watching a movie on my couch? more privacy on my couch, but picnic on the beach is slightly more romantic. and involves less cleaning of my house. depending on the weather may be cooler on the beach. movie may be more entertaining, involve more snuggling...but whichever it is, she has to bring her dog with (because until she moves into her new house she isn't supposed to have him in her apartment), and it's easier to ignore him on the beach than in my apartment. Hrm.... [edit: beach is well known as a makeout spot, after dark, so this is not entirely an obstacle. but still]

Your couch will be good year-round, the beach will not. Not in this clime.

Edit: Go beach!

Extra edit: Unless sand is a problem...

Ah, but will the GIRL be good year round? Remains to be seen, quite (I rather doubt it--she is not looking for anything serious, or monogamous. But she is fun, and I enjoyed chatting with her for a few hours on IM last night)

Extra edit: Unless sand is a problem...

Well, I do not intend to be doing more than making out, so I don't anticipate sand being a problem....

The question then becomes WHICH beach...Golden Gardens? Which is bigger and has an off leash dog area? Or Denny Blaine, which is closer and traditionally gay, but small?

And...what, besides picnic and make out, does one DO, at the beach?? We have already discussed (via watching people play it at the park) how we are both extremely bad at Frisbee.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I agree with Pete, go enjoy the beach.
