I hate to break it to you, oh impotent one, but you're not the big bad anymore, you're not even the kind of naughty.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Yeah, Cass, I figured you guys would get it worse.

Blech.

I like warm, but not warmth that clings like you're swaddled and can't get out. Yuck.

The status is NOT quo.

Coffee w/meara (don't I wish!):

GC, I'm glad the kitty is okay. I can't wait to meet her! I know how hard it is to be mourning Josie, and I'm so glad you have a cute little distraction in the new member of your family.

David, congrats on your team's accomplishments!

I need to see that SNL! It's on the Tivo, so I'll check it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up, Hil!

Omnis, that's great news about the potential work! Would it be in LA? If so, I'm even more excited.

...see, really, this, and the 'you should call me' - I kind of think that she doesn't remotely even a little bit deserve the hot sexin'. Because she is A KNOB. Seriously.
I agree with Fay and Burrell. That said, I have certainly had sex with my share of knobs, so I'm not one to talk.

Beverly, thanks so much for the sympathy about the sting and swelling. The eye has been getting slowly less swollen all day, so I think it's getting better. Of course then I got a series of six bites from some insect or other up my left leg, so now Drew wants to put me in a bubble. I've taken two more Benedryl and am sitting around feeling sorry for myself and annoyed with the insect world.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I like warm, but not warmth that clings like you're swaddled and can't get out. Yuck.

Walking into the MSI show last night was like walking into a wall of that. Every now and then a breeze would hit us and it was like THE HAND OF GOD.

I am barely kidding.

Of course, NYC gets weeks of summer like that. Heaven help us.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Precisely. It's hot and I can't get out breathe!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I've taken two more Benedryl and am sitting around feeling sorry for myself and annoyed with the insect world.

Your new mantra: "Look, I love the environment, but it's hurting my eyes!"

Yeah, WTF is up with the sudden hot for Pride weekend? I was all excited to finally have a Pride weekend where I wasn't sweating my ass off, but nooooooooooo. Though I did appreciate that at least it wasn't humid?

Went to the dyke march. Marched around. It was much more speechifying (beforehand) than I'm used to. BOOOOOOOORING. Skipped out in the middle ot have a drink with T (aka "Wallflower"). Fun. Then we marched. So, less anarchy than the DC one, but lots more people. Less chanting than I'm used to, too. I got some cheers going, which was fun, but couldn't remember most of the ones we used to chant (the favorite was "2-4-6-8, don't assume your daughter's straight, she's not, she's not, she's not she's not she's not", but "10% is not enough recruit recruit recruit" was also popular).

Eventually ended up back at my place with T and R (the "trolling for hos" one) for some drinks, snacks, and chatting. And then we headed out for dancing. Where OH MY GOD it was A FREAKING SWEATBATH. It must've been 100 degrees and so freaking humid in the club. I just about had heatstroke, adn I was wearing a small t shirt and a miniskirt. I left the other two there (though after some of our friends) and came home and took a cold shower. Good god.

Tomorrow, more pridefulness.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

(((sj))), hugs for you, sucessful surgery wishes to your nephew. Try to breathe, and trust the doctors. I know you can't really stop worrying, but put that energy to something useful. Make something to send him, or his mom and/or older brother. And don't let yourself get caught in the spiral of worry--do something else when you realize you're futzing over things you can't affect. (((you))) again, just because.

Thanks, Beverly. You know me too well, with the worry. The surgery is actually going to be here in MA, so that it can be done by the same doctor who did his original surgery. So, I should be able to dote on him and spoil him a bit before he heads back home.

Mostly lurking...

Fucking trees.

In more ways than one!

GC, more hugs for your loss, but also YAYs for the new kitty! SO cute! CBD also thinks she is quite cute.

I missed Hec's birthday! Happy Belated Birthday, Hec!

{{{sj}}} I hope everything goes well for your nephew.

There was more, but I haven't had enough coffee yet.
