Want to know the definition of irony? Having an allergic reaction (rash, general itchiness ALL OVER) to goddamned STEROIDS.
Steph, when I've gotten that, it's been skin yeast infections. They pop up all over and are REALLY itchy. So, it may not be an allergic reaction. Steroids just cause all kinds of fun side effects.
Sparky, that's ridiculous.
Good luck Aims on your first day!
So, today is Aims' first day at the new job. I think we all wish her luck.
I know I do!!! Hope all goes well.

Heh. I had a reaction last weekend I think to something in the sugar scrub they used in my mani-pedi. So incredibly aggrivating because freshly manicured nails don't scratch. And I couldn't find the dog's benadryl, so I had to dope myself up on Nyquil and go to bed early.
Oh, geez, well yay for not have lupus or sarcoidosis. Also, rest assured that if it is lupus, I'll be able to call it a good half hour before your doctors.
Jessica, I hope D gets better quickly.
Good luck Aims! Here's hoping your new boss isn't, well, corporate Voldemort.

Has it happened within a day of starting the 'roids? I assumed that the fairly short reaction time meant allergic reaction.
Plus, having had allergic reactions to other drugs (because my body apparently WANTS TO KILL ME), this is pretty much the same.
t edit
I know it sounds crazy, but when my ear canals itch uncontrollably, it's a sure sign of a systemic allergic reaction.
Jesus. I've become one of the patients we publish articles about in my own journal.
Ok. Very good points. You're probably right. And, honestly, it doesn't surprise me. Steroids are evil.

Well, I'd never presume to diagnose someone else (although I'm sure I *have*), but since my immune system is determined to kick my ass, I *do* recognize these symptoms when they show up *in me.*
The super fun part is that I've been totally off my Zoloft for 1 week today, so I'm already having withdrawal-induced BIG TIME mood swings. Add 'roid rage to that, and I am 10 pounds of crazy in a 5 pound bag.
My co-workers are calculating minimum safe distance.
