I talked with old management company. not looking good for getting my deposit back. The only person who can authorize it is on vacation out of country. Apparently I had 3 days to decide, and it was more than that. I doubt I have a legal leg to stand on, so I am appealing to kindness, and the fact that its still two weeks before I was scheduled to rent it.

So, co-worker got a new doggy. A black chihuahua/terrier mix female named Coco. Very cute! Co-worker is v. happy. They also had an adorable little Siamese mix kitten that I might have to go get as we are probably putting my sweet and wonderful Josie down on Friday (sob). She is not doing well and I'm feeling like it's cruel to keep jabbing her with the needle every night when she is never happy and is not the kitty she used to be. She has been a great friend for most of my adult life and I'm going to miss her terribly. I know I want another cat (it's like a tribute to Miss Jo as I love her so much I know I want another). I wasn't expecting to get another so soon, but this one really got to me.

If you do end up with the meezer, prepare to find yourself entertained and outsmarted. Meezers is hella bright kitties. Also stubborn. And one of the things they get stubborn about is love and affection. By which I mean, they expect a lot. And give a lot, too. Also, they expect to be right in the middle of whatever is going on - family meetings, they will participate in discussion and demand a vote. Chatting in the kitchen? Best include them in conversation, lest you find yourself hijacked for nefarious feline purposes. Standing around doing something that involves concentration on something other than kitty? Expect kitty to jump up onto your shoulders so s/he can supervise.
