Kristin, I think it's amazing that you'll get them done by 1 am. Seriously. If anyone says anything about it, send 'em my way. I'll school 'em.

My computer just crashed while checking some files, and now it's like those files don't even exist. This is HOURS of work, and I don't have time to recreate it before it's due.

Fuck, vw. That sucks.

It sucks a lot, but....

Breathe. Take a few minutes. Breathe. Calm yourself down. Don't get upset or cry. just take a minute and breathe.

Then start back up from wherever, head down, and back to work. Don't think about not finishing on time. Don't think about how upsetting or frustrating it is. Just head down, and back to work.

And for the rest of the night, every five minutes or so, hit save. It's a good habit to get in to. It's a crappy lesson to have to learn the hard way, but learn it.

Breathe. Head down. Back to work.

I have finally finished the last evaluation. Gronk. So much for that 1am deadline. At least I finished before 2. Time to go collapse in bed for a few hours.

I gave up after an hour of searching for the files. These are files that were complete, saved, and re-opened for checking. It doesn't make any sense.

I went and rested (didn't really sleep) for a few hours, and now am going to try a few more things before re-contacting the agency.

vw, check your temporary files folder. Sometimes they'll get tucked there to try and save them. They may have funky names and extensions that won't open. Try renaming the extensions and opening them with whatever program you were using. They may be screwed up or may not, but there might be something salvagable to save you from having to recreate them from scratch.

I've checked the temp folder. They're not in there. Eh. I'll just redo them today. Hopefully that will be ok.
