[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Actually, there was teasing, barbed though it was. There was also discussion about Lawnmower parents (Helicopters who have landed and are mowing over the university staff) and Hummer parents (over land and sea, they will drive over anything to try to get their way).

I think I was giggling through most of that discussion since we have had the same discussions here.

The status is NOT quo.

I am desperately trying to finish the 15 evaluations I'm supposed to have emailed by midnight. I have 4.5 left. No way am I going to get them done in time. I'm just going to have to send them after the deadline and the families and my supervisor are just going to have to deal. There are pretty intense extenuating circumstances, dammit. I traveled for twelve hours yesterday and have been in a hospital most of today.

My goal is to send them all tonight. I'm aiming for before 1am.

Kristin, I can relate, though I don't have your extenuating circumstances. I don't think a boy counts as a good reason to not reach a deadline.

I've got over 9 hours of work to do in the next 8 hours. Go me!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

{{{Suzi}}} I know you'll miss K-Bug.

Maybe someday I'll find a boy. So happy for y'alls.

You and me both, sistah!!

Kristin, I think it's amazing that you'll get them done by 1 am. Seriously. If anyone says anything about it, send 'em my way. I'll school 'em.

I don't think a boy counts as a good reason to not reach a deadline.

Why not?? Go, vw!!!

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

My computer just crashed while checking some files, and now it's like those files don't even exist. This is HOURS of work, and I don't have time to recreate it before it's due.

Fuck, vw. That sucks.

It sucks a lot, but....

Breathe. Take a few minutes. Breathe. Calm yourself down. Don't get upset or cry. just take a minute and breathe.

Then start back up from wherever, head down, and back to work. Don't think about not finishing on time. Don't think about how upsetting or frustrating it is. Just head down, and back to work.

And for the rest of the night, every five minutes or so, hit save. It's a good habit to get in to. It's a crappy lesson to have to learn the hard way, but learn it.

Breathe. Head down. Back to work.
