Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Drew, you and your family are in my thoughts. Courage.

Ok, credit card question here. So it seems my moving company has a "concierge" service. Cool, I guess. They call me up, and it's to help set up utilities and stuff at your new address. And, of course, they have promotional items. So they had a 30-day trial of Sirius radio. I was thinking, dude! NPR for the trip across, no searching for stations. Sure, I'll try that. Then she's asking for my credit card number to pay shipping for the radio. um, ok. Then she's asking for the security number on the back, and the red flag went up. I can't ever recall a phone call asking for that number, it's always an online form asking for that number. And I was hesitant to give it, becuase its a security code. And she is like "it's for OUR protection that YOU have the card, not for YOUR protection". Um. No. It's for MY protection so folks don't use MY card numbers. If I called YOU, I wouldn't be hesitant, but you called ME, so I have NO CLUE who you are. And the more she got frustrated with me hesitant about giving the last 3 numbers, the more I was thinking this could be a scam. Thoughts? Advice?
I wouldn't give my credit card # out to someone who called me, no matter who they said they were.
Your intuition is correct, omnis. Scam. Or at the least, a poorly run company with which you should not deal.
Could be legit but the fact the she is getting pushy about it doesn't seem right.
I asked if they had a sirius link for the promotion, so I could fill it out online and they get the referral, she she was not listening at that point.
