Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Actually, that's not true, at least here in MA.

Oh, really? I've never had a problem depositing things written out to DH and I (tax refunds etc) - didn't realize it varied by state.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I thought a lot of it depended on whether it had an and or an or between the names. In many places "and" means both have to sign. "Or" means either can sign. That, I think, varies bank to bank, not so much state to state.

Librarian Warlord

Checks are commercial paper, and most states follow Article 3 of the Uniform Commercial Code, but the states can make changes.

And with that, I may have just exhausted my commercial paper knowledge, the little that was still stuck in my head.

Mostly lurking...

Yeah, I'm not really sure it's a state thing. I'm not sure what it is. All I know is that cashing those damn checks are a pain in the ass. But, I don't want my dad's name on my account so that once a year my life is easier. So, we just deal with it.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Ceiling Kerfuffle Bunny is watching you

Can't. Breathe.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

wtf is up w/ people? when the sign says don't block the intersection and i stop so i'm not blocking the intersection, do not pull around me and then look incredulous when i honk at you.

Much strength, peace, coping, healing-ma etc for ND and family.

Now I will go look at Ceiling Cat Kerfuffle Bunny.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think Hil's been taking trapeze classes in Baltimore for a while now, off adn on. They sound awesome and fun, but she's said they use crazy muscles and make her very sore afterward!

Yep. I'd love to do it more often, say once a week or so, but it's $50 per class, then another $20 for transportation, and pretty much takes up an entire day, once I factor in the transportation time. So, I've been going about once every two or three weeks. (Also, it's outdoors, so they only run during the summer.)
