Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Unexpected moments in Fay's Life, Number 392:

Failing to adequately lock the door on the loo, and thus finding it opened by the bloke you have a crush on, while you're sitting with your knickers round your ankles. Having to dash onstage seconds later, to go through Act 2 of your performance, without cracking up every time you look at said bloke on the other side of the stage.

...

...

...this is SO my life.

sighs

But the good thing is that I think that THIS has finally cured me of feeling self-conscious around the guy. I mean, fuck. I'm in throw-hands-up-in-the-air and acknowledge that the universe is screwing with me mode now.

(...still with the fancying, incidentally.)

Thrive to spite them

Ask him out!

At least you didn't throw up on him. Did know someone who puked on a guy on the first date.

I love to hustle, the dance that's like swing not the line dancing. When I was taking ballroom lessons it was one of my favorites. There are a lot of turns and spins and it's easy to improvise and add West Coast moves to it or swing moves or something else. The basic footwork is identical to swing, rock step back, step, step. Except the timing is different. Swing has a pause between the step step and hustle is more fluid between the step step.

That probably made no sense to anyone.

Do the Hustle! Hustle is : rock step (1-2), Step (3), step (4) (unless it's synchopated but I never learned that. Swing is more 1-2 3 PAUSE 4 , but not a huge pause. I kinda sucked at Swing becuase I'd apply hustle timing to it.

When dancing it's more the beats and timing of hte music than what type it is. Some of Billy Idol's music works prefect for swing. You can Cha cha to B 52's Love Shack. Santana's Smooth can be Cha cha or West Coast Swing (if I remember right, sometimes a rhythm can be applied to different dances).

Total sense to me!

I thought Swing was my favorite dance until I was hipped to Hustle. So much fun.

Where, oh where, is my Hustle partner?!

Hi [object of my crush], since you've caught me with my knickers down, what do you say we have a date? Fancy a dinner?

It's official, Fay's life is now the expatriate version of Coupling. Now we just need to get her to the, well, coupling.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Did know someone who puked on a guy on the first date.

Didn't Cybervixen puke on her first date with her fiance? (Actually, are they married yet?)

I am living proof that eating healthy can be hazardous to your health. Case in point. Yesterday I purchased 1/2 dozen apples on the way to work. En route I fished one out to plop in my lunch bucket. While exiting the freeway, the bag of apples proceeded to empty all around the floor of the passenger foot area. While at a light, I lean down (a bit fast) to scoop up the apples before they got nasty on the floorboards. While doing so, it seems I jammed my side into the seatbelt clasp. Hard. My right side hurts. No visible bruises, but it hurts like a mo-fo.

I blame the apples.
