Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

It's Plei day!! Happy Plei day!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Salon tipping etiquette: I know that if the owner is performing the waxing/haircut/whatever, you don't tip.

What do you do when the owner is also your friend? She's still the owner, and therefore I wouldn't normally tip. And then, it seems weird to give a friend a monetary gratuity.

Tip: yes/no? Bring her a shell ashtray from vacation?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Steph, I tipped, FWIW (when I was having my hair cut by the owner). I figure everyone needs money.

I just don't know if it's tacky to tip one's friend.

Maybe a gift card? they seem less, um, crass than cash, but still spend-able.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Steph, my friend isn't the owner of her salon, but I still tip her.

Steph, I'd stick with the rule about not tipping owners, if that's what you'd do if she wasn't a friend, and bring her the tchotchke.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

But it's on the opposite side of where the pain is, so I haz a confusion.

Steph, for whatever it's worth, back in '04 i had surgery for large cysts and endometriosis. they completely removed my ovary on the right side and while they couldn't find any "normal" tissue on the left, the doctor didn't want to give me a full hystorectomy at 25. so she cauterized the left one and hoped for the best. to this day, when i ovulate or whatever i still have pain on that right side and there's nothing there!

hey, bitches! i think i've decided this thread is a better fit for me over natter, but i'm going to attempt to keep up in both. i've just read through about 1300 posts in here. read. not skimmed, not skipped. read. heh.
