Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Still, an allergic reaction to the most common medication for a severe allergic reactions is pretty over the top.

Right? But I searched MEDLINE last night, and, while it's not *common* for people to have an allergic reaction to methylprednisolone, it's happened enough for there to have been articles writen on it.

The articles describe some cross-reactivity with other steroids, but not all. So I'm going to call my doctor this morning and tell him what's going on, and find out what he wants me to do (other than stop the methylprednisolone). I could already tell it was helping my wrist pain, so I'd like to keep taking another steroid, if possible.

I've taken this steroid pack before, maybe 4 or 5 times in the past 15 years, and never had this reaction. Weird weird weird.

I don't have a *rash*, per se, or hives, but I'm itchy all over and flushed and my skin feels hot all over. That's not my normal state of being, and then only thing new in my daily routine in the past 2 days has been the steroid, so it seems fairly obvious that that's the culprit. Dang.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I hope the next round of stuff offers you some relief, Teppy.

Teppy's an episode of House!

God, I *so* am. I probably have worms in my brain. (That was the very first episode of House, and I knew then that I could never watch another, because my hypochondria kicked in and I was CONVINCED that I had brain worms, because the patient got them from eating ham [trichinosis, dontcha know], and I eat ham, so therefore I MUST have brain worms! I knew it would only get worse with every successive episode, so I saved myself the trauma early on and forswore it.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Teppy's an episode of House!

Well we can rule out lupus, then.

Golly, a new thread! Did not see that coming. Top 50, whee!

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Also sarcoidosis and all infections.

You probably just swallowed half a toothpick or something.

Blargh. DH just called to say Dylan has a 101 fever, and I'm stuck at work with THE MOST ANNOYING INBOX EVER. I can't even describe the level of stupid I'm dealing with today. I want to go home.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I say go home, Jessica. I had a dream about Dylan coming over to play, which is weird right?

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

So, today is Aims' first day at the new job. I think we all wish her luck.

In other news, apparently Drew Barrymore was in my neighborhood last night, scouting locations for a movie about roller-derby! Ypsilanti! Go figure!

Just talked to DH again - I'm heading home so he can go to work.
