Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

ION, I had lunch with a friend from college that I haven't seen in like 10 years. She found me on Facebook. It was really cool catching up with her. She lived in NY for like 4 years and has been in LA for 4 years. She looked exactly the same as I remember her. She said the same of me, but she's totally lying. Still, nice to hang!

Someone I didn't even remember said that of me at my 10 year high school reunion. I was kinda offended. In other news, I can't believe my 10 year college reunion is next year. My best friends is bitter her 10 year college reuion isn't THIS year...because they mix it up with the current graduates. Who were supposed to have Ted Kennedy as their speaker. Who will not be speaking, and has instead asked Barack Obama to step in for him. She's like "Damnit! I could've been there! If I only graduated a year earlier!"

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

  • phew* that took a really long time to get through! I started reading, and the nuber at the bottom just kept getting longer......

Aims, it is a good week for new jobs. I am loving mine. Would only be better if had not beein an idiot this morning and hand't been late :( Yes, my first full day alone and i was 4 minutes late. Freaked me out. Stooopid public transit not helping my morning pokiness. I will never again trust the bus, and will always be early. The mail got here before me :( And being 45 minute early yesterday doesn't counteract it as most poeple were out yesterday and the day before so i met them for the first time today, when i was late, and upset over being late. *sigh* And didn't check my tights before rushing to ut them on, so i have bad runs in my black tights. Eeep. Bad first impression! Not pleased abut that, but the place is great and everyne here is great and yay internet access! Friday afternoons are slow :)

My kitten has a cold. He is champion of bad reactions to vaccines, this time the rabies vac he got on saturday. Since tuesday he has beena font of kitten snot. In addition to his usual morning snuggles (as i do my morning neck exercises in bed, afer he has eaten he joins me and attempts to nurse on my neck. he also does this when i try to sleep. It tickles and is loud and annoying. Was cute when he was wee, but now my bad neck really can't handle nine pounds of suckling kitten on it.

Now he not only attempts to suckle from my neck (ow! teeth!) but also periodically sneezes on me, showering my face with a heavy rain of kitten snot. I feel so bad for him, but he now so overdue for his weekly bath (was overdue on tuesday when he got sick....) that i'm going to just do it tonight and keep the heat on so he stays relatively comfy. Poor sick kitten, but i need to breathe also! Maybe the steam will help unstuff his nose. Little mister sniffles is a very pathetic kitten.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hello, Buffistas. I've missed you.

Trying to compile buttons for my hypothetical sash of self-definition, I come up with: Go on, look at my BooBs; Fat But Surprisingly Flexible; Please Move; Often Callous and Strange; Low Carb; Pantheist (Just Look It Up); Spelling Matters; No Kids, No Regrets; The Only Thing I Fake is Caring; and, Better in Bed Than Your Skinny Girlfriend.

Because books.

Our dog is not a big licker, but our cat used to love to suck and lick earlobes. He was also a big drooler.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Unfortunately, she's also a Republican

You know, some people are. It's OK. Some of them are even good people.

By my definition a Buffy fan is a good person. The fact they are Republican does not make them a bad person. What it does do is limit our topics of conversation. We both realized right away we had opposing political views and agreed there were topics we would not discuss. Which is sad. But we still do have very much to talk about and do.

One of my cats is a kneader. I'd almost rather he suckled, because claws, ow!

IME, suckling always involves kneading. Usually with claws, more rarely without, and often with drooling. And very lound purring. In fact, the *only* time Mal ever purrs is when he's trying to suck my neck.

Hrm, that came out somehow wrong.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

That's when I know it's time to get Amarna's claws trimmed, when her kneading of my stomach/chest/arm/whatever starts to hurt.

Oh, and she has a strange fascination with my hair when it's at post-pool chlorination level or right after I color it. She's been known to chew it to enjoy the flavor more.

Wired has a story here: [link]

Could they pack more pop culture references into a video?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ye gods! That was quite a bit of stuff.
