They were kind of amusing when they first got started. But (1) the novelty's worn off and (2) there are lots more of them and there are more people in each group. And the morons are dangerous!

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm going down to the County Clerk's office with a co-worker as she and her partner go to get their marriage license. I'm already getting weepy.
Oh... Happy tears! I wish them happiness.
here's one group that I've finally had to send a complaint about.
Tour groups on Segways.
I saw one of those totally wipe out. I don't know what happened, I was across the street, they were all stationary, I was looking at the traffic. Suddenly, I heard a loud whirr and exclamations, looked over, and a woman was flat on her back on the ground.
The thing is, I don't care if they hurt themselves. They can win the Darwin Award, for all I care. But they're making it dangerous for ME to walk on the sidewalk!
Vortex, insent. With puppy dog eyes and a pleading face.

I'd have a hard time restraining myself from pointing and laughing. It would be a "go team schadenfraude" moment (along with seeing the following types wipe out: roller bladers who barrel past you with just inches to spare and cyclists who use the sidewalk as a racetrack, and then act like you're a nuisance because your walking on their road). Hate, Hate, HATE Segways!
They see me rollin'
on my Segway....

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

Jars are you still considering coming to So Cal?
We're definitely considering it. It's our fallback position if DH gets laid off, which is not hugely unlikely as we all just got letters mentioning 'necessary redundancies' in the near future. He's in an okay position though, and I don't think he's top of the list to go, but we'll see.
I'm looking at places I can maybe do a PHd in archaeology down there. I'd have to do a GRE, which I still haven't figured out what it is yet.
