My first thought was this shot of Evelyn Nesbit: [link]

Actually, I was just reading that a picture of Evelyn Nesbit was the picture that LM Montgomery had when she was writing Anne of Green Gables. She had no idea who the picture was -- she'd cut it out of a magazine at some point, and it seemed like the sort of look she wanted for Anne.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

how about a Russian Bride? Oddly enough, I googled "strong woman dark hair light eyes" and this is the first image that I got.

Here's another picture of Evelyn Nesbit, from when she was a little older, I think: [link]

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

t snerk on Richard Hatch...

Hmm. Nesbit, oddly enough, looks a bit too much like she could be a sister or cousin of my character's main love interest, especially through the eyes and nose, and I want them a contrasty couple rather than a matchy one. Hmm...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know when I was reading all those Evelyn Nesbit books growing up, I didn't realize she was a freakin' hottie.

In other exciting news, Emmett was one of 12 kids in his league named to the 11 y.o. All-Star team.

Hmm, I think my character might look a little like Hortense de Beauharnais, only not as sad and with a shorter nose and a firmer chin.

Which is kinda weird, because it's perfectly possible that Hortense herself might show up in this series eventually...

Hec, I think you're thinking of Edith Nesbit.
