Mal: Does.. um.. does this seem kind of tight? Kaylee: Shows off your backside.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The outfits were ridiculous, and the plots and love lives over the top

Two of the things I liked about the show. I liked that the show never felt obliged to punish the gals for the sex and the drinking and sometimes asinine behavior. I never much cared for Carrie, but I liked Charlotte and Miranda.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

They were my favorites too, Burrell.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

With marmoset, you get earworm.

Todd, I'd like to option this for a future tagline. Shall I have my people call your people, or can we do this with a handshake?

Am home from the bowling alley. CJ's teacher had TWO parents bail at the last minute. I was the only parent to show up (with 1 hours notice).

Man, 5th grade is the big hormonal divide. Some girls were so developed, others nada. Some boys seemed to notice, others were clueless. It was very interesting to just sit back and watch them interact. For having 90 10-11 year old kids in a bowling alley for 3 hours, they did pretty darned good. There were only a hand full that I would have cheerily drop kicked into the street.

DH and I are discussing moving to southern California. So what's the what with Southern California? Sunnydale was there, right?
...Jars, are you serious? t bounces tentatively

Lots of us live in SoCal and can tell you more than you ever wanted to know about it. Some love it, some hate it. I love it more than anywhere I have ever lived and will burble on endlessly about it if you really want info.

Susan, that's awful. So much ~ma for that poor family.

{{{DJ}}} That just plain sucks. I'm sorry honey. Listen to the smart people up-thread, though--he married you, and you are smart and sexy and made of awesome.

Suzi, you have my utmost respect.

I am Burrell re: SatC.

BT, congrats to your dad! And I love this:

Aww. Daddytea couldn't be here today, so I am honoured to accept these marmosets on his behalf.

Hey there, all. I just got home from meetings galore at school, but I also managed to finish packing up my classroom today. Know what that means? A half day tomorrow with a few more meetings and a farewell lunch and then school is OFFICIALLY out for summer! Woot!

I start teaching the online class next Monday, so I plan to bum around like mad this week. I shall take sloth to new levels of slothiness.

Thanks! But not quite done yet. I'll be done after lunch tomorrow. Around 1pm board time, I will be doing the dance of summer joy.

Unfortunately, I am in the airport because my flight is an hour delayed.

Fortunately, my company has given me a laptop with one of those cellphone wireless card thingies, so I always have Teh Intarwebs. Mmmmm.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Crap, Susan. That's unspeakably awful.

(((DJ))) That does indeed suck like a convention full of whores. No bloody housepoints for Mr Jane, with the stupid. But what they said - you're hot, smart, and fabulous.

Jars - what they said. But also - ask yourself what made you sit down and MAKE a tray of things that were off plan. Previously, I've been shocking for sabotaging myself any time I decided to start a diet, and promptly giving up. It's like some voice in the back of my head panics, thinks: "shit, if I try to do this thing I so desperately want to do, I may fail! Or I may succeed, and discover that it's not the weight that's the problem, it's me being rubbish!" and immediately fall on my sword. Or, you know, my entire packet of biscuits. (Not happening now. I'm in the right headspace. Yay!) Maybe, if you can figure out what the catalyst was, you can prevent them happening in the future. (Or even just stop a little earlier - only make half, or only eat half, or take control in some other way.)

Finally, in the cold light of day I must apologise for my negativity about the SATC movie. I mean, I meant every word - but there was no need to come and piss all over it, when folks haven't seen it yet, and some of you are bound to enjoy it. I mean, my friend N in Cairo ADORES the show, and my friend S (who planned last night's party) not only adores the show but IS Carrie, absobloodylutely through and through. I think the pressure of biting my tongue for several hours in the presence of SATC fans, so as not to detract from their enjoyment, definitely kicked courtesy to the curb there (well, that and the Cosmpolitans) - but I hate it when someone disses one of my shows or books or movies, so I'm ashamed of having done the same thing.

Not my bag, as you'll gather. But the others in my party enjoyed the hell out of it.
