Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

to "makes the whole elopement thing not eloping".

I fully support the amendment.

Our wings are not tired.

Ew, covered in coffee grounds is a bunch better than toner. the coffee grinder thing I have done too.

How is it I have never visited your neck of the woods?

That's what I'm sayin! I think there should be a winter F2F in the keys.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I like the idea of getting all of my family together to celebrate, and I really hope they can all make it. The elopement for me is really about avoiding the fuss. Flower, dancing, cutting the cake, people clinking glasses all night, etc. I want the brunch to be more of a relaxed family party where hopefully the focus isn't all on me all day long.

Love this idea!

I'm currently taking an anti-inflammatory that warns me to discontinue use if I start vomiting up stuff that looks like coffee grounds. It's not quite "Warning: do not attempt to stop chainsaw blade with hands or genitals"

BTDT. Trust me, you'd notice. It's kinda weird and freaky.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ew, covered in coffee grounds is a bunch better than toner.

Yeah, the issue with toner is that it's sticky. He was scrubbing at that for like half an hour just to get it down to a dull grey.

Why does my computer spell-check not recognize "grey"? It's a perfectly acceptable spelling. Huh, how many words do we have that have more than one acceptable spelling? Grey/gray. Ax/axe. Blonde/blond. (Actually, my spell-check underlines one of each of those pairs. Weird. And it accepts Grey with a capital G, but not with a lower-case one.)

not your mom's socks.

D - you around or swamped today/tomorrow?

brillig

Grey is the British spelling, isn't it? Your spellcheck must be feeling patriotic.

Odd that it doesn't accept the female/male division on blond.

It also only accepts ax, not axe. Now I'm staring at "axe." That is an OK way to spell it, right? I'm doubting my ability to spell first grade words now.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Don't worry, I won't stalk you guys, we'll just hang around the Alchemist till you show up! Tough work indeed.

You could stalk me! Is it stalking if I *want* you to?

TCG and I need to get up to Vermont soon and start looking at possible elopement places

sj, my bro got married here: [link] It used to be called the Caravan Bed & Breakfast, but apparently it has new owners. The web site doesn't really have good pictures to show you the property, so I'll pimp my pictures: back porch, garden in which the ceremony was held (not many guests were at the ceremony, so the garden was the right size; the B&B has a lot of land where a bigger ceremony could be held); if you look past my SiL, you can see the gazebo; the barn (part of the B&B) where the reception was; the barn has a loft for tables as well as room for tables on the ground floor.

(That damned B&B should pay me for the PR I'm giving them!)

t edit And if I had read more closely, I would have realized that you don't need a place that has room for a reception. D'oh. (But the pictures are still cool, right?)

The elopement for me is really about avoiding the fuss. Flower, dancing, cutting the cake, people clinking glasses all night, etc.

That's EXACTLY why, should I ever get married, I'd rather elope. However, I also love a good party, so I'd be happy to throw a HUGE hootenanny some time after the entirely hypothetical elopement.

Did you say the iguana is sitting in water?

There is a water dish (actually, it's a rectangular glass dish that I normally put leftovers in....never again) in the tank for the iguana, so she can either sit in it, or sit on the dry "carpet" (it's special reptile-tank carpet -- for real; I saw the box it came in).
