Yeah, I definitely think someone spiked Witch Hunt, and while I know it looks like it could have been me, it wasn't. (I realize that's what I'd say if it were, so my protestations are probably not altogether helpful to you, but just putting it out there.) I'm willing to sit out this check, since my contribution would only have been nominal, in a good faith effort.

I think this is, in every sense, up to Doctor Government (it's his choice after all). If he can swing both an IC and a fair contribution, I'm in favour of going for it. If he can't, I think we'd be running too much of a risk.
I could potentially help a lot with this check, but I'm not sure I should if the rest of you can take care of it or if losing Morale is not too bad. I don't know.
We've already lost a couple of points of Morale, so we don't really want to lose more if we can avoid it. It's starting to get a bit worrying.
(Just to make it more worrying, Baltar has a lot of influence over Morale. Aside from being the decider on this check. Morale-based Crises often have Yellow positive, and Baltar's our main source. There are also some Quorum Cards that let us try to raise Morale, and as President, he's in charge there too.)
On that note, Helo, I'm sure the story of your escape from Caprica and return to the fleet will be a heart-warming tale of courage and human indomitability. Have you ever considered a career in politics? The press loves a hero. PLus, if you're to repopulate the human race, you'll need some face time so we can find you a wife. Several wives, probably. I'd suggest Starbuck, but she's like the son I never had, and I'm not sure if it works that way. Plus, she's developed these "issues" about having kids. Something about a bad experience on a farm, I couldn't really make much sense of it. She gets pretty worked up about it. Women, eh? You know what I mean! I tell you, boy-sons are so much easier to deal with than girl-sons.
Dear Diary: Dee and the other women of Galactica have started glaring at me whenever I'm in Command. Was it something I said? Reminder: let them know that they're collectively like the son I never had.
As I like to say at work, if I had a nickel for [every son Adama's never had], I'd have a handful of nickels.
You know, O Moderator, you're just like the son I never had.

I can play an IC, but it would severely cut into what I could contribute to the check.

Ok. Helo says he can help a lot; everyone else can help a little. Doctor, I think that if Destiny doesn't oppose us, we can pass this, but it won't be cheap. I would not be surprised if Destiny did oppose us. I also believe if we try this without an IC, it'll be spiked.
On the other hand, if we pass this, it's +1 Morale. If we don't even try, we lose yet more Morale.
I don't envy you this decision, Doctor. If you decide to take the shot and possibly put on
the best Colonial Day pageant ever,
I will back you.
BSG
Right but if we don't try, we lose only one morale, whereas if we try and fail, we'll lose two.
BSG
I'm torn. I would hate to toss the yellow card that helped us win the check on an IC and end up losing the check anyway.
BSG
Right but if we don't try, we lose only one morale, whereas if we try and fail, we'll lose two.
Yep. With us a bit short on cards, it's a tough one. Feel it! Feel the tension! Greed and fear battle for dominance within your heart!
Playing the averages, if we think we have even a 1 in 3 chance of passing this, then taking the skill check gives us better odds. But, obviously, there's a lot of risk that comes with that, it's a big gamble.
I think we've maybe a 2 in 3 chance of passing, if no one spikes it. That, for me, is the big unknown. That and whether increasing to infinite mass as we travel at the speed of light makes my thighs look fat in this uniform. There aren't any mirrors in Command, and everyone acts funny if I try giving the order over the phone.

This isn't to do with the LeaderHips thing again, is it? <looks worried>
I'd say we could go for it, but I'd feel a lot better about it with the IC in play.
