Right but if we don't try, we lose only one morale, whereas if we try and fail, we'll lose two.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

BSG

I'm torn. I would hate to toss the yellow card that helped us win the check on an IC and end up losing the check anyway.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Yep. With us a bit short on cards, it's a tough one. Feel it! Feel the tension! Greed and fear battle for dominance within your heart!

Playing the averages, if we think we have even a 1 in 3 chance of passing this, then taking the skill check gives us better odds. But, obviously, there's a lot of risk that comes with that, it's a big gamble.

I think we've maybe a 2 in 3 chance of passing, if no one spikes it. That, for me, is the big unknown. That and whether increasing to infinite mass as we travel at the speed of light makes my thighs look fat in this uniform. There aren't any mirrors in Command, and everyone acts funny if I try giving the order over the phone.

This isn't to do with the LeaderHips thing again, is it? <looks worried>

I'd say we could go for it, but I'd feel a lot better about it with the IC in play.

Yeah, I agree. Without it, I'm pretty sure this'd be spiked. I'd rather not have the IC in the check and not have it spiked than have both.

BSG

It's nice not having to worry about these decisions. And, you know, knowing what's ahead. My foresight is 20-20.

Hmph. Our GM is gloating. It's not nice for omniscient beings to gloat. It's worrisome for us mortals.

I think you're confusing gloating with relaxing (but point taken).

Hee. Perhaps it is unwise for me to give our GM a hard time. Our GM should relax. She's like the mother our Admiral never had.

Are you insinuating something, Chief? I hope you're not suggesting I in any way lack provably human parents. Of course, if you're merely suggesting that I sprung god-like and fully-formed from the ocean foam, then... Carry on.

I think you're confusing gloating with relaxing (but point taken).

Pfft. It is your birthright! It is the province of the GM to cast an omniscient eye over the many decks of fate and declare, "Yeah, they're screwed."
