I can help a lot with this check.

I don't have an IC, so pass on interrupts.

Okay, given my standing CO's, that's everyone, and that makes this a closed check. Please send CO's to me or post your card contribution here.

Destiny: 2 cards
Baltar: 3 cards
Helo: 4 cards

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

OK, even if Destiny is negative, we'll be getting pretty close to passing this already (as long as both Helo and Baltar are on the up and up, which I believe they are). Starbuck, Chief, if one of you can throw in a card, and I'll throw in a card too, that should see us right.

Yeah, I don't want us to overshoot, either, but this is a pretty important check. But, and not to stir up the paranoia too early or anything, the odds are reasonable that someone is not on the up and up, and I really don't want to miss this one. Population loss is pretty hard to replace, as far as I can tell, and we're already in threat of boarding, so I don't much fancy moving that process up.

Of course there are other threats coming up as well, so we don't want to deplete our cards. Hard to know. Too bad we didn't have that IC.

All true, and if we overshoot this one, I won't be too concerned. (Certainly possible, for instance Destiny could wind up doubly positive.)

So far Baltar and Helo have played into this check. Baltar has the best chances of being a Cylon, and if the Witch Hunt check was spiked, it was with Blue, which he has. However, all game long he's only drawn one card which could be negative for this, and if it's a 1-value it'd be positive anyway, so I feel pretty good about him here. Helo played two cards last check which had to be positive, and I think he's picked up a lot of Purple, so he could easily make a big positive contribution.

So from my end, the biggest risk of spiking is either Starbuck or you. (Not that I suspect either of you, of course.) I confess that's part of why I'd like to limit your contributions too. I'll limit mine for much the same reason.

If you're good to add something here, I'd feel ok with Starbuck passing. By my calculations, we should still probably be ok, or close to ok, even if someone did throw in a spike or two. (Effectively, I reckon we've probably reached pass level ok. A card from you and me is the insurance against someone spiking.)

I went through this whole big OOC assessment, but suffice it to say, "Aye, aye, Admiral." I'll do as you ask and amend my CO's in email. If Starbuck plays one, I'll abstain, and if she doesn't play, I'll play one. Then it'll be up to you, Admiral.

Given a choice, I'd rather massively over-pass this one than fail it. Passing gets us out of this mess with minimal losses, whereas failing gets us stuck longer and wastes a bunch of a cards.
