How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I give up, what's the SR short for?

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

You have some basic archetypes to work with:

And even within the basic archetypes, there is a LOT of room for personality and individuality.

Street Samurai can be big and tough -- a super strong troll with cyber muscles, bones and skin, to make you strong and hard to damage -- or you can be super fast, agile and sneaky, with jacked up reflexes and cyber eyes.

And that's without adding flavor.

I know Shadowrun is a great love for many of you guys - especially Joe - but I just plain cannot stand the notion of Cyberpunk meets Fantasy.

I understand it's a perfectly valid concept for fiction, but for whatever reason it just sets my teeth on edge. I guess everyone's got something like that... what's yours?

SR isn't d20?

Nope. It's always been it's own system, but the system mechanics have undergone four full revamps. The most recent one (SR3 to SR4) is easily the most fundamental mechanical restructuring they've done yet. It's also the best system redesign they've done.

In a lot of ways,

BWAH! Oh hell no, and you should be thankful.

ION, Magic is reducing the number of cards (but not sets) it produces a year. It's also added a new rarity level though the way they're re-engineering the card mix means it won't take much more to collect a set. It does, however, mean they need maybe 15 to 20% less card art per year so less money spent on art. Less work for artists. Bit of a mess really.
