Okay my pretties, initial cards have been sent out, the destiny deck has been stocked and shuffled, and Baltar has been dealt the initial cards for his turn. Let's hope Six isn't whispering in his ear...

I assumed you didn't need the titles of skill cards, but if you do, let me know. For newbies, names of cards and descriptions of abilities and actions are on the Skill Card Word document I sent you.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Ok Doc, you're the only person who can use the President's Office, so if you've nothing better to do that's an option. The fact that it would get you off my ship is of course not at all why I'm bringing it up.

Oh, a problem: in your initial draw, you're limited both by the colours you draw, and the numbers. Starbuck can only draw 1 Engineering per turn, which means you can't start with more than that.

Oh, I thought you could do any combination of colors. Sorry, once again, I find the rules really could be written to be more clear.

Since that's my fault, should I retract the blue? In theory, then, Chief and Baltar should have gotten different cards.

Actually, you know what? The rules themselves only state that the draw needs to be from your skill set, which is ambiguous. It's the FAQ that says that means both colour and number, not the rulebook. Furthermore, the designer had first said it was just colour, and only later changed his mind. (Oh, and just about any other time you get bonus cards from your skill set, you can take any number.)

If you want to house rule this situation, I'd say go ahead. It'd certainly be easier than redealing everything.

I swear, I so wish my FT job was editing game instructions and menus.

Anyway, glad I'm not the only one that found the rules ambiguous. I don't see the correction in the FAQ I have, but let's say that since even the designer was waffling on this, we go with what we have.

Play on, MacDuff!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

People of the Colonies, while we must never forget the devastation the Cylons have wreaked upon us, or the many who were lost in their brutal attack, we must focus on the road ahead of us, and the survival of humanity. To that end, the Admiral says he knows the way to Earth. As your president (and smartest man alive) I will do everything within my (rather considerable) ability to bring our people to safety. Thank you, and may the gods be with us. [sets the handset down.]

[eyes Adama] Tired of my company already, Admiral? I promise I'm really quite charming if you take the time to get to know me. We should get together for a cup of tea once all the shouting and explosions are over with. But you're right, of course, the Quorum needs tending to. They're quiet edgy what with the decimation of humanity and all. Not that I blame them, it's all just terrible. Terrible. Really. All that death and destruction. It's a miracle I'm here at all. Good thing, though, if we're going to make it through this. [holds his hands up] Oh, right. Right. Shouting and explosions. I should be on my way and let you do your whole command thing. But tea, later. Okay?

Move: Discard Y1 to move to President's Office on C1.

Action: Activate President's office to draw two Quorum cards. (I imagine there's not going to be anything immediately useful so I'll just speed things up by not waiting on the results of the first draw.)
