In non-BSG news, I finally decided to purchase the full version of the Scott Pilgrim game earlier this week. I beat it playing as Scott last night (why, oh, why does it not support online multiplayer?) and got one of the "bad" endings. (Apparently the only way to get the "real" ending is to have Ramona in your group, or play as her if you're going solo, which is odd.)

Overall, it's fun, though it kind of goes from hard (I was playing on "Rough and Tumble" aka Medium difficulty) to kind of easy at about the midway point when you gain access to weapon combos and also run into enemies that drop swords/asp batons/shock rods and then knock people (including most of the bosses) into the corner and just spam the attack button to air juggle them into oblivion.

It is amusing that it was released in conjunction with the movie since it is very much based on the comic books and their storyline.

Yeah, Boomer caught me by surprise. Although, with nothing to really go on, besides Apollo (and myself) I figured it could be anyone.

I'd say my order of suspects was:
Apollo (it was gut instinct, but I felt this from the beginning of the sleep phase)
Chief/Zarek
Boomer
Tigh (as sure as I was that Apollo was a cylon, I was sure Tigh was not)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I wanted to add, Chief Tyrol got some great mileage out of his character's abilities. His OPG cancelled 13 points of Piloting spikage. Twice he played an SR that turned a card in Destiny - on Scouting for Fuel, he switched the Blue-5 for a net gain of 10 points, and two thirds of the points added by the crew were also Blue. The one that really smarts, though, was my Super Crisis. His SR flipped a Blue-4 for a net gain of 8 points, saving the fleet from the Inbound Nukes. So kudos, Chief, you sunk my battleship and you sunk it hard.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Just not quite hard enough.

Well, I can thank the card-counters for the suggestions on when to drop those SRs.

I was really disappointed that the SR allowing me to drop the B5 into the second-to-last Crisis didn't help any, and even left us vulnerable to the final crisis (though I think even with me playing 10 Blue into the check we still would have failed it.)

I really hesitated suggesting it because I had no idea what blue you had, but I think we had to go for it. So few of the crisis cards call for blue or red that it didn't seem to make sense to hoard it.

This is true, you were very unlucky to see such an important Blue check come up immediately afterwards.

The Unidentified Ship check could easily have gone either way. If Apollo hadn't drawn the Y5, if Destiny was just a little weaker, if your own cards were just a little stronger. It made for an exciting struggle on which to end the game.

Don't forget the number of times team Human (and the President) increased food and fuel. I thought for sure the game would have ended a long time ago due to fuel or food. The number of water and food shortage cards seemed staggering.

On the whole, I think the game is very difficult for Humans to win. To get this close is amazing. Kudos all around.

We went through all four Food Shortages, that's a lot of shortage. Even back in turn 5.3 (when Food was at 2 and Pop was at 6), I commented to the mod that I thought you were more at risk from a Population loss than Food. There are a lot of cards that can cost Food, but most of them give the players some choice in the matter. And, of course, you had options to raise it again (though your luck on the Food Rationing rolls sucked).

Being short on Food, though, forces you take take Door number 2 whenever it was threatened. That helped keep you short of cards too, and made you sacrifice other resources too (notably, Population).
