billytea, can I just say that I'm a wee bit jealous of your gaming group? If anyone tried to build that immersive of a world with my usual group, they would meet with even more smart-assedness and threats to burn down the city than usual.
Nah. I think we're still trying to find the right balance. Still working on bringing some of the NPCs to life, and I have to fight a tendency to railroad. Of course, they're only on the first mission, I'm working on expanding their options as they get more established. (It'll be more fun that way when I rip it all from them.)
So, anyone come across any good scary nightmares?
Thanks, gang! You're all awesome!
BT, I had some ideas for nightmares, but I'm running out the door to work. I'll post later.
Sean, I want to meet with you to create my character, for lo I am slow.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!!
(Now come up to Seattle.)
Happy Birthday Sean!!
Sorry you didn't get to join us for games this weekend. Fun was had. Must come back (and not have horrific traffic, not get a parking ticket, and, most importantly, not scrape the side of my car in a tight parking lot).
And we got megan walker in our house for a WHOLE WEEKEND! You may commence with the jealousy.
Sorry to hear about the car, though!
Well, I guess I've had such good luck with all the rentals I've had over the last few years, it was bound to end.
Amex seems to be on top of things though so hopefully they will take care of everything. And I just wrote a lovely letter to the city of Pasadena.
Otherwise, it was a great trip. I'm just going to pretend that Miracleman finished his transporter and I beamed from place to place.
I had a nightmare last night. Jim and Dwight were sword fighting on the deck of the Queen Mary and Pam was trying to get them to stop and then Jim got stabbed and there was blood everywhere and Jim was dead and then Pam was bleeding too. It was horrible. Probably wouldn't work for your Eberron campaign, though.
Happy Birthday Sean!
There was an old CoC Dreamlands adventure that had some awesome nightmares, from just good imagery (Leonardo in his ornithopter, exclaiming "It flies!"...and then the ground opened up and ate him) to the ickily personal (character's parent vamps out on the character with all sorts of sexual overtones).
At least, I thought they were pretty potent back in the day. Post-internet, when I can get goatse and bukake and tentacle porn by careless link-clicking...

Nonetheless, they should probably remain on their guard should I introduce them to any NPC called Dwight.
Actually, the big threat in this campaign is a bound fiend from the Age of Demons that I refer to as Gift of Release. At the moment all the party really knows about it is its symbol. I've used the first character in the Chinese word for 'penguin'.
