Not BSG:
I will check out Get Lamp. I love infocom games (the name of this forum always makes me so happy).

So, we are just deciding whether to keep cards and intentially fail the check, losing two morale, or whether to try to pass the check. Is this right?
This is correct. I think I would rather try the check.
Note: I can call an IC, but I'm not sure whether it is better for me or Chief to do that. If I do, I can only help a little with this check.
It is IMHO better for Chief, if he has any, since he will be drawing next turn and he can't have too many cards because his hand limit is lower.
Is
Get Lamp
coming to theatres? Netflix seems to be so far unaware of it.

Since the BS consensus seems to be "Go for it", I'll play a Y3 Investigative Committee for the check.
Good to hear there's no risk of losing food from the civvies.
ETA: It's a shame there was no jump advancement on this check. If so, it might have been worth it for me to repair and then activate the FTL control. I don't think we're in dire enough straights to activate the FTL at this level and risk 3 population.

Kalshane, you do realize with Boomer turned to the toasters, I am pretty sure you are the ONLY person with Blue cards, right? The one I had I drew from the research lab and haven't had a chance to draw any more since.
Which means if you're a toaster, we're screwed. Have fun screwing!
And if you're not a toaster, I suggest to please fix the FTL as soon as you can thank you very much. Even if we don't activate this turn, I don't want to wait till your turn again, or someone gets a blue card from the research lab, to be able to jump.

Yes, when I said that the humans need to be XOing as much as possible, I was not referring to the Chief, who I assumed would move to the FTL and repair it, just in case.
IOgamingN, while in Kitchener-Waterloo, I managed to play 3 variants of Dominion (First Game, Big Money, and Village Square), 2 games of Agricola, and 1 of Race for the Galaxy. The latter two were both new to me. I liked both, but I doubt I could find people here who would like Race for the Galaxy.

I'm a sentient artifical life form, and I approved this message.
To my compatriot, whoever he - or she - (no, wait, there's only hes left, unless the Admiral has a Victor/Victoria thing going on) - may I suggest that it's time to think about putting the screws on. Fooling them all is fun - hell, under the right circumstances it can be hilarious - but ultimately not the objective.
On which note, failing this check will lose Team Human 2 Morale. Let's see what Destiny has to say; if it's on our side, this could be a check worth spiking, even openly. (If I hadn't revealed yet, I'd be using my OPG on it.)
BSG
I'm all for repairing the FTL on my turn. I was just lamenting it wasn't worth using my special ability to activate it upon repairing it. If I get an XO, I'll toss it your (Salty's) way with my extra action from playing a Repair to get you out of Sickbay. Otherwise I'll use the Purple I picked up in the lab to Scout with it.
BSG
Would it be worth activating the FTL if someone had a Strategic Planning card to increase the odds against losing population? (Not that I do, mind you, just a question.)
Also, if we don't activate, it might be better to XO me to scout both decks since Zarek or myself would still have a chance to XO Tigh out of Sickbay before we got to Tigh's turn.
BSG
Chief has played an IC, it has been removed from his hand.
Sorry Boomer, looks like Destiny favors the Humans this time.

Just a point of order. With all this talk of repairs. Don't forget, that Admiral's Quarters is also damaged. That room is the easiest way to brig someone. Say, the other Toaster. If you fix FTL and jump, you have a strong possibility of losing 3 population. There is only one more civilian in harms way (after B & C bite the dust this turn). Assuming it's not one of the two set to be lost (and already discussed in worst case scenario), there is a 1 in 9 chance that it is a -2 population ship. 4 in 9 chance it is a -1 population ship. 2 in 9 chance it's a decoy ship (nothing lost). And a 2 in 9 chance it's a -1 population AND a resource ship. If you go for the roll, you need to roll 6 or better to not get a -3 population hit. Just something to think about.
That said, first we have to get through this check. First up to bat, is the Chief! Don't forget, the Cylon gets to play ONE card into the skill checks. The other toaster has no limitations, since they are not in the brig or out of the closet.
