Most people is pretty quiet right about now. Me, I see a stiff -- one I didn't have to kill myself -- I just get, the urge to, you know, do stuff. Like work out, run around, maybe get some trim if there's a willin' woman about... not that I get flush from corpses or anything. I ain't crazy.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

That looks right to me.

Thanks for not impeaching me. That Y5 was the only IC I had at the time and I feel that if we can play open checks we should.

Boomer has her card draw. Golly. She has a lot of cards. I wonder if she forgot, that she can only play 1 card while in the brig. Hey, but if she stays in the pokey, no crisis card!

So I guess we need to discuss springing Boomer. Probability-wise, we should do it. No crisis card is good, but then we can't advance on the jump track either.

Should we need to do the check, I could certainly help.

I might be able to help ease some of the fear surrounding springing Boomer. I sent the GM a question regarding secrecy rules & he can post my thoughts on releasing the prisoner if I haven't said too much.

From the President, through the Chief of Staff:

"I think springing Boomer might be good idea but perhaps we should wait until after my turn. A member of the quorum has some Cylon Mug Shots & I can take a look at them and see if she's in there."

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I realize this probably comes off as more defensive toward the players than I intend.

Given that I'd been explaining why I found you less suspicious than before, maybe a little.

Just on the Destination cards, there are 23 in total - seven 1-Distance, eleven 2-Distance and five 3-Distance. Odds of drawing two 1-Distance cards is about 8%. (Odds of pulling at least one 3-Distance card is about 40%.)

Concerning my turn: given we're currently under attack, I prefer to get all hands on deck. However, if the crew is concerned about supporting my release (and I give extra weight to the President's opinion, as he can raise or lower the DC if he wants), I'm good with the Mugshots. It'll cost us some time, a couple of actions and possibly an XO - not insignificant, but not prohibitive either.

(I am of course assuming the President isn't a Cylon. Per the last discussion, I trust him well enough for now.)

I agree with the President: check the mugshots first.

I am terrible at math, I admit--But I'm seeing that 5 out of 23 (the rules say there are 22 distance cards but I think that might be an error) is 22%. I realize when drawing 2 cards, you have a better chance of drawing, but does that fully double your chances? This is more of a "me trying to understand statistics" kind of thing than arguing. Of course "me trying to understand statistics" is like "3 year old trying to understand quantum physics" and I think the 3 year old has better odds than I do. I just know I've never drawn a distance 3 card before in my life so I always thought there were like, maybe 2 in the whole deck.

I thought there was a 0 distance card but I think my brain is making up ways for the game to screw us over more. Stop it, brain!

There's a 0 Distance card in Pegasus, but not the base game.

Here's how the stats work on the 3 Distance cards. If you don't get any 3D cards, that means that your first and second draws were both 1D/2D. There are 18 such cards out of 23.

The chance the first card was 1D/2D, then, is 18/23. Assume for a moment that's what happened. Now we draw the second card. We've drawn one already, so there are 22 cards left in the deck. 17 of them are 1D/2D. The chance the second card is also not a 3D is 17/22.

To get the chance we don't draw a 3D, then, we multiply the chance the first card wasn't by the chance the second card wasn't (given that the first card wasn't). That's 18/23*17/22, which is about 60%. If the odds of getting no 3D is 60%, we must have a 40% chance that at least one card was a 3D.
