You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Hey, I have something coming up in my Eberron game I thought I'd solicit ideas for. I'm sending them into the Mournland when they're about fourth level, there to know fear and despair in boundless measure. As part of the experience, I want each of them to suffer vivid nightmares. Problem is, I have seven players, so I need seven nightmares, and I need good ones. I have a couple already planned, but I was wondering if anyone here has some good ideas for a one-page or so nightmare narrative.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

What are the characters like, roughly?

It's almost midnight here, so I won't go into detail yet, but I'll post about them tomorrow.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Yeah, post some details about the characters in question, and I'll kick out some ideas. I love coming up with symbolic nightmares.

Coding and Sleeping

Five nightmares.

1. Cleric dreams that he accidentally goes to the tavern naked.

2. Mage dreams that he totally forgets about his spell test.

3. Fighter dreams that only after confronting a gang of annoyed bugbears does he realize he left all of his weapons at home.

4. Bard dreams that all of his teeth crumble and fall out.

5. Thief dreams that three steps before a sure backstab on a totally unsuspecting lich his entire outfit suddenly consists of nothing but cowbells.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

5. Thief dreams that three steps before a sure backstab on a totally unsuspecting lich his entire outfit suddenly consists of nothing but cowbells.

This would explain so much about my so-called "stealth" skills.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

so if I roll a 20, does that mean I pay the least or the most? And is a 1 a good roll or bad?

If you roll a one there's a chance you've just stabbed yourself in the eye with your credit card.

How about an Eberron nightmare where you are a warforged being created?

Heh. To quote from a previous game: "Sure, send the fighter with me! 'Hey, we hired a stealthy guy, but I'm going to go along with him! I've got a pocket full of loose change, will that be a problem? Oh, and empty beer cans tied to my ankles, but that won't affect your sneakiness, right?'

'Oh, and did I mention my explosive diarrhea and Tourette's Syndrome?'"

'Oh, and did I mention my explosive diarrhea and Tourette's Syndrome?'

I'm now imagining him doing so in mime. Interestingly, it's the Tourette's that gets tricky.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.
