So it looks like I have the option of an XO on Helo so that he can fire on the base stars, or drawing a blue card in the hope that I get a repair card.
Any thoughts folks?
I'm leaning towards the XO.

I'm all for the XO. If we can potentially reduce the number of basestars pounding on us, we'll be better off and hopefully not have more parts of Galactica in need of repair.
The XO seems more immediately useful.
Regarding repair cards, I have some yellows so I can draw a few repairs when it comes around to me (I was trying to get some Quorum cards first in hopes of getting some resource renewal cards, but the deck seems stacked against that).
And... I've been thinking, if we're getting that desperate for repairs, we may just have to get Boomer out. She's still been helpful. You'd think if she was a Cylon she would have found a way to bust herself out by now.

Dudes! I have a repair card!
That said, I think firing on the crystals is the best idea. We are getting hammered with every activation. If we take much more damage, I'd say a nuke is in order, with or without raiders. But for now, XO so Weapons Control can be activated!
Mass Effect. Awesome. Beat it once as a "nice guy", going for "asshole".
Cool. I picked it up cheap (either $5 or $10, I forget) during a Steam sale awhile ago, but I haven't had time to play it. I think it will be sucking up my limited play time once I get done with DragonAge, probably no time soon.
I played a bunch of Dragon Age during the snowpocalypse. Every time I start it up, Mal asks if this is the time I fight the dragon.
I'm starting to worry a little bit, when he tells me what I need to do to kill undead, or bad people, or darkspawn. And I really worried at this exchange:
Mal: Wow, that's a lot of blood.
Me: Yes, yes it is.
Mal: What happened?
Me: I blew up.
Mal: Why'd you do that?
Me: Because I'm a rogue, trying to fight a level boss by myself.
Mal: You shouldn't do that. Only warriors can really fight by themselves. You should shoot arrows at it.
Me: I don't want to be a fighter. Fighters are boring.
Mal: But that's the only way to play these games. And you shouldn't explode anymore.
And you shouldn't explode anymore.
This is good advice in general, really.
I like my rogue, I made a fighter character, but I've played the rogue a lot more. Rogues can deal some serious damage.
I've lost two companions now, one I didn't mind, but the second kinda hurt.
Me: Because I'm a rogue, trying to fight a level boss by myself.
Ask me why I haven't been getting enough sleep lately. Yeah.
Also, what Gud said: Rogues in Dragon Age can be pretty damned badass. I'm very fond of double-weapon with the rogue fight moves (all the stunning stuff, basically) pretty buffed. (I find archers as boring as straight-up fighters.)
Gud: who'd'ya lose? I'm ridiculously attached to my crew. The game isn't perfect, but damn if I'm not finding the story and characters really emotionally strong where I @@ my way through most games I've played when they try to act like they care.
