I like my rogue, I made a fighter character, but I've played the rogue a lot more. Rogues can deal some serious damage.
I've lost two companions now, one I didn't mind, but the second kinda hurt.
Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

Also, what Gud said: Rogues in Dragon Age can be pretty damned badass. I'm very fond of double-weapon with the rogue fight moves (all the stunning stuff, basically) pretty buffed. (I find archers as boring as straight-up fighters.)
Gud: who'd'ya lose? I'm ridiculously attached to my crew. The game isn't perfect, but damn if I'm not finding the story and characters really emotionally strong where I @@ my way through most games I've played when they try to act like they care.

I think I hit the Fade maze either a little too early or without enough buff. I'm doing it over, this time with more than 3 healing potions. And I haven't exploded this time.
I have to admit I've been trying to pull off the "party swap;" and having viable romances with both Alastair and Morrigan. No one's ever pulled off the party swap before. But I think I've pissed off Morrigan too much.
And I do agree, it's not a perfect game but the story and characters are really good. It felt a little "Game of Thrones" at the start, but my fears were unfounded. It's maybe not BGII, but what is?

My approval rating with ****** is 100 with both my characters (I'm not sure this reflects well on me). Since I have one male and one female character one is Luv and one is BFF.
