I've been playing a female human sorcerer in my semi-regular D&D game. She's from a far off land, sort of a gypsy princess thing. It's really fun playing her. We just passed the 10th level mark.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

We miss gaming with you, dammit.
I'll second that. I also miss our D&D campaign.

but we get a really good discount if we buy all the licenses together so give me a day or so to get my shit together and then we'll work it out.
Let me know too.

Okay, so how many licenses do we think we'll need? I know we'll need at least two of the master ones so that Joe can DM from his place, and someone can DM from this coast if needed. Beyond that I was looking at getting client ones for my place in Pasadena, and then if BC wants to play from his place we can pick one up for him. Others?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm not sure, but don't the DM licenses come with a couple of player licenses? Worth checking.

We'll need at least one DM license on this coast. I think I'll actually need one myself, so I can fiddle with programming too. I may already have one, though, on my old XP box. Sometime in the next week, I plan on firing it up one last time to retrieve files off it before I wipe it and turn it into an Ubuntu box. For fun.

(Yes, I had previously set up one Ubuntu box, but I eventually took it down again)

No, they have Full and Lite. Full allows you to do everything including DM, Lite is pretty much just for players. They don't include any extras with a full, but if you buy multiple licenses as a pack then you get a discount on the bundle. That's why I'm thinking we all get together, figure out how many of each we need and then I'll place one big order.

Okay, I'm missing something here. FG? What is FG? That's the thing you're talking about licenses for, right?

It's Fantasy Grounds. Basically software to allow us to play pencil and paper RPG's through the internets.

Oh, cool. See, so much of the license talk sounded like the thing that D&D is doing with 4th edition but the terms 'license' and 'FG' just didn't fit.

So, what are you thinking of playing.

P.S. I'm not really here; I'm actually hard at work painting.

I suspect we will initially try it out on a D&D 3.5 campaign since that's what it comes set up for by default. We really want to use the customizing features to use it on a Serenity campaign that Joe was running before he moved away from Los Angeles. I'd also like to see a game of Shadowrun get going.
