I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

Okay, I'm missing something here. FG? What is FG? That's the thing you're talking about licenses for, right?

It's Fantasy Grounds. Basically software to allow us to play pencil and paper RPG's through the internets.

Oh, cool. See, so much of the license talk sounded like the thing that D&D is doing with 4th edition but the terms 'license' and 'FG' just didn't fit.

So, what are you thinking of playing.

P.S. I'm not really here; I'm actually hard at work painting.

I suspect we will initially try it out on a D&D 3.5 campaign since that's what it comes set up for by default. We really want to use the customizing features to use it on a Serenity campaign that Joe was running before he moved away from Los Angeles. I'd also like to see a game of Shadowrun get going.

Yeah, by default, it's set for D&D 3.5 but it's supposedly customizable through XML or scripting or some such.

I wonder if I could even eventually rig it to run Republic of Rome. I bet I could. That would be downright awesome.

Okay, I may go plug in my old XP machine now and start looking at how to get stuff off of there.

I think it has a firewire card. Can I use that firewire card to start XP in target drive mode, like I can with Mac?

I don't believe the XP has a target disk mode.

Maaan, looking over at the D&D homepage, the release countdown is down to 23 days. Crazy! Time flies.

Just as well. it seems that box does not actually have firewire ports. Actually, it might on the motherboard, but it doesn't have any external ports.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

in our weekly game I just got my dwarven ranger to fourth level and my new animal companion is a dire rat. I have a diseased rodent for a pal.

Hee. My main Living Greyhawk character is an arcane trickster with a rat familiar. Yes, it is a mole rat.

I know! I have to budget for it in this month's pay! Where does the time go?
