Connie, I'm jealous.
He's especially delighted with the new Brood Lord, and there are figs of Gene Stealers clinging to various pieces of ship, and one of a Space Marine's skeleton in his armor sitting on a throne of some sort.
Hubby keeps showing them to me and giggling.
I wish I had the time to join the BSG game. Hopefully next time around my schedule won't be quite so restrictive.

That would be quite excellent.

The minis are unpainted, right?
bt - what're the chances of having Pegasus involved? Maybe not this game, but at all?
An expansion or a variant game which has much the same rules but completely different ship and crew?

Pegasus is an expansion set, which includes four new characters (Military - Admiral Cain, Pilot - Kat, Support - Dualla, and Political - Ellen Tigh), as well as the option of taking a Cylon leader. It adds some new skill card types, including some that allow for Cylon treachery beyond just spiking the check itself. You can end the game on New Caprica instead of just jumping to Kobol; there, the Cylons take over and you have an insurgency, and the human players have to try to escape with as many of the civilian ships as they can.
Oh, and finally you can execute people. Just chuck 'em out an airlock. If they were a Cylon, they resurrect; if not, they get a new character.
It sounds good, but definitely more complicated. And it hasn't reached my gaming store yet, the bastidges.
I agree, bt - more complicated. I love the sound of it, but at least for now the original game alone is quite enough.
I'm just overly-enthusiastic. Playing Cain would be SUCH A BLAST.
Playing Cain would be SUCH A BLAST.
For
you.
Everyone around you would have to jump ship and hope Adama will protect them.
Playing Cain with the ability to airlock people sounds like no fun whatsoever for anyone else.
The minis are unpainted, right?
Yes, they are, the Gene Stealers are green plastic and the Marines are orange plastic. But they could probably be painted, especially, oh, by someone who was good at painting.
Unfortunately that's not me. I
was
good at painting minis but my eyestrain is related to focal-distance and the last time I did 90 minutes of touch-up work on a mini, I discovered my eyes wouldn't focus beyond a couple of feet for 20 or so minutes afterward. That was the last mini I will ever paint.
