Hubby just opened his new Space Hulk (from Games Workshop, for those who don't know the oeuvre). He's geeking out over the new miniatures, which are, admittedly, cool. He says he hasn't felt this delighted since Christmas when he was ten years old.

BT, I'm wavering between Tigh, The Chief or reclaiming the sullied name of Apollo. Are characters chosen in the order of play like in the rules or do you do something different for online?

Connie, I'm jealous.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'll be going by the rules procedure, so I'll assign an order randomly.

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

Yay! New game!

And Pete, when you're not dying-of-deadlines, some Monday evening we (you and I) should hit the Victory Lounge, which has BOARDGAME NIGHT. $1.50 beer, food, and table space specifically to pay boardgames. Apparently Catan is the #1 favorite.

We should get them to play BSG all the time. ALL. THE. TIME.

bt - what're the chances of having Pegasus involved? Maybe not this game, but at all? :)

I can safely say the chances are minimal until they send some damn copies to Australia. Once I've had a chance to play it, we'll go from there. I don't think it'd be a good idea with newbies - it looks like a definite step up in complexity.

There are so many better games available now. Catan deserves kudos for ushering in the new era of Euros, but it's been easily surpassed. They must be educated!

move out and draw fire

Whereas we just played Doom, which has sat on our shelf for 3-4 years. Lamest. Game. Ever.

I remember hearing good things about it, but honestly it was really boring. No amount of plastic figs makes up for that.

Connie, I'm jealous.

He's especially delighted with the new Brood Lord, and there are figs of Gene Stealers clinging to various pieces of ship, and one of a Space Marine's skeleton in his armor sitting on a throne of some sort.

Hubby keeps showing them to me and giggling.

Our wings are not tired

I wish I had the time to join the BSG game. Hopefully next time around my schedule won't be quite so restrictive.

That would be quite excellent.

The minis are unpainted, right?

An expansion or a variant game which has much the same rules but completely different ship and crew?
