AKA Raq's Husband

Congratulations to Team Cylon for their glorious (and inevitable) victory!

First I want to thank BillyTea and the entire Academy for this MVP award -- gosh I never expected this. Wow. But I couldn't have done it without all the little humans that I impugned, maligned, and manipulated along the way.

Bless you, Boomer, for your innocence -- I used you like a drunk cheerleader on prom night and you never hesitated to thank me and ask me for another. Daddy Adama, you should probably know that mommy never loved you and her orgasms were just another cobbled-together sub-routine like her Gods-awful pork strudel. But always making her wear a sweaty wife-beater and calling her "Tigh" at the pinnacle of pleasure probably didn't help. Baltar, you're a funny little man and I would have loved to have kept you as a pet but your air-sexing a non-existent Caprica Six creeped me out.

So as I accept this award, here under a pitiless sun baking the radiation-wracked ruins of Caprica, draped in my comfy Adama-skin blanket, I raise a toast to Roslin and Apollo in a cup crafted from Baltar's boiled skull, and brimming with Boomer's heart-blood. Mmmmm-mmmm! That's good soup!

Still, you might be asking yourself (in the unlikely event you are still alive) what thoughts go through a cylon's mind at a time like this? When so much has been risked, and so much risk has been so amply rewarded. To what thoughts does a young toaster's mind turn? Simple, really.

A P/A system and Sinatra.

And now, the end is near;
And humans face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life of bull,
I've traveled each and every lie-way;
And more, much more than this,
I whacked them my way.

Regrets, I've had a few;
I didn't shoot dad, while he was in detention.
But I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway.
But more, much more than this,
I screwed them my way.

dumm-dum-dumm dee dum!

I did it MYYYYYY WAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

move out and draw fire

You know, when that PA system attains its inevitable sentience, it's going to swim down your throat and choke the hell out of you.

Zach wouldn't have been a cylon.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Things that are LOVE about Arkham Asylum:

1) Oracle

2) That dropping down from among the gargoyles to grab the bad guys and string them up by their toes thing.

3) Oracle

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Yup, just finished Arkham. And boy, do I mean finished. Story complete. Riddles complete. Bios & trophiesc complete. The only thing stopping me from having 100% score is that I just can't seem to score highly in the challenge maps.

The game comes incredibly highly recommended. A couple of tiny missteps but 99% entertaining.

Man, I want a sequel but I doubt they could come up with a conceit as brilliant as the tight little sandbox of Arkham.

ETA:

So, not promising it would start this week or anything, but if I ran a second game of Battlestar Galactica, who would be interested? I've counted Pete, Stunthusband and Omnis so far. Anyone else?

I'd be up for starting no earlier than next week as I need time to look at the rules.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

If we could start after the 12th, then I could keep my table clear for my Beatle Rock Band party.

I'm happy to start whenever.

Sean - I've never played Republic of Rome, but if it's possible to play without a copy, I'm always game for a new boardgame. (Mafia/Werewolf isn't quite as compelling to me - too many years in the Cam has kinda spoiled that whole set of genres...)

Ya, ditto. I realize I'm short on cash and long on visa, and need to stop buying things for awhile.

I think it's playable without a copy. It's a *little* more detailed than BSG, but not too much. And there's a lot of social interaction.

I do not think this game is the game you think it is. Mafia/Werewolf
