It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So how plausible is this "people won't go see Iron Man because they're too busy playing GTA4" bullshit?

Coding and Sleeping

Not very. If someone wants to go to the theater to see Iron Man, they're going to go. Maybe the opening numbers might be a bit lower, but that's the only thing that seems even somewhat plausible to me.

I might actually delay going by a week, but that might have happened anyway.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Let's face it, GTA4's cost compared to theatre = fractional. Can't see it having a huge impact.

GTA IV may be most expensive game ever made

Although he wasn't sure on the exact figures, Benzies told the Times Online that, over the three and a half years the game was in development, the 1000-plus people working on it probably cost Rockstar around $100 million.

I'm not surprised. I've just been playing it for several hours, and can say without a doubt the level of attention to detail is simply staggering.

Anything for a weird life.

I pretty much never remember that I'm a member of these here forums, but I popped in here to say that I just went on summer break from college and can definitely see hours of my summer wasted on the new Super Smash Bros. If I get my grubby mitts on a copy (for cheap), probably Kart as well.

This past semester was very much a "disregard the homework and play Oblivion on my roommate's 360" time, I've pretty much done all the quests and was just having fun fortifying my speed/athletics/acrobatics to insane levels (600+ speed, 350 acrobatics, etc.) and jumping over city walls.

After a few days of playing GTA IV I find that the experience is less like playing a game, and more like blowing through a DVD season box set of a favorite show. It's just that damn good.

And the combat is tough. Body armor won't save you if you didn't notice the one enemy waiting just inside the door who then unloads on you when you think you're in cover.

ETA: Tom, where would your place roughly be on the GTA map?

I'm near the entrance to the Broker Bridge.

So it has a really good story? Awesome. The story for Vice City was good but pretty basic, if I recall.
