Yup, ultraviolence that's completely unapologetic.
I loved it.
And the more powers you get, the more unpleasant ways there are to kill - or absorb - things.

When you smash someone and then walk away while absorbing their energy it is quite disturbing... slowly absorbing a flailing leg.
Now D's playing Wolverine. In a lot of ways it's even grislier.

I play two cards.
This was Mallory's brute's toughest fight yet -- two brutes, two bears, one survivor...
I loved how the bears fell within seconds of each other.
Man, Malficum is a serious Brute. Seems to be - unsurprisingly - rising meteorically.
If you didn't get penalized for hitting the bass pedal unnecessarily I'd be a Guitar Hero drumming god.
Malificum's fights tend to be two hit affairs -- the opposing brute gets hit by the bear and then hits the ground.
Seriously, they rarely last more than two exchanges, and Malificum has lost only one fight. In one of the recent tournaments, Malificum beat an 11th and 12th level opponent, before being beaten by a 10th level brute who was smart enough to ignore the bear and simply beat on Mal.
I don't think game balance was a serious consideration in the design of this game...
I blame you all. I now own the BSG boardgame.
I walked into the (new!) game store within walking distance of my apartment (woe be my checking account), and picked it up.
The convo went like this:
The proprietor gave me a Look and said, "If you're sure you know what you're getting into, that's an excellent game."
Me: "Some friends are playing a play-by-post game on a message board."
Him: "On boardgamegeek.com?"
Me: "No, a message board devoted to the Whedonverse and Buffy."
Him: "So if I order you a copy of the Buffy boardgame, you'll buy it, right?"
I blinked. "Yes."
And so he did.
I LOVE THIS STORE.
