What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

BSG (Zarek)

Er, perhaps we should try a teensy bit harder, guys.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

BSG

Right then, here we go:

An Offer of Peace: 12 (6) YG

Destiny: 2 cards
Baltar: Executive Order 2
Romo: Dradis Contact 0
Hot Dog: Test the Limits 5
Apollo: Consolidate Power 2, Negotiation 5
Athena: Executive Order 1
Zarek: Investigative Committee 4
Cally: Declare Emergency 3, At Any Cost 4

Running tally: 21 - 5 = 16 + Destiny. And Destiny is:

Repair 2
Personal Vices 3

Destiny punishes you to the tune of 5 points. Tally drops to 11! But Zarek steps in with a Declare Emergency 5. The check passes!

We have some other dribs and drabs to take care of. The DC-0 adds raiders to Sector 1, the PV-3 gives everyone more Treachery (and Cally a mutiny card). Then the basestars launch raiders, rather than going on the offensive right away. But who cares? It is a decision they might regret, as Baltar has left his orders:

Move to FTL Control
The button, he hits that

What happens next? Details in the next post.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The fleet jumps away from the Cylon Fleet and to Kobol! We have a die roll for Population loss. Everyone lasses on interrupts:

Die roll: 3. Fail! Population falls by 3! But it's still at 4, so everything's ok, right? Well, let's have a look behind the next door. Did anyone have any Personal Goals at game end? Why, yes. Yes they did. There were in fact three Personal Goals unrevealed. They were:

Baltar: Sacrifice (Fuel) - Can reveal if 6 vipers damaged
Apollo: Self-Destruction (Morale) - Can reveal if in Sickbay or the Brig
Zarek: Devastation (Morale) - Can reveal if there are no nukes

Fuel falls by 1, and Morale by 2! The final values are:

Fuel: 2
Food: 7
Morale: 2
Population: 4

All resources are still positive. It's been seven games since I last had the chance to say this:

HUMANS WIN!

Congratulations humans. And you couldn't have done it (probably) without the help of your chrome-plated pilot. Does Athena get to share in the glory? A reminder of how this works. Athena has four motive cards. In order to win, she must have fulfilled the condition on at least three of them. Of her fulfilled motives, at least two must align her with the humans. She has already fulfilled one human motive, which she revealed when the FTL Control was damaged. Her other motives were:

Human Motive: At least 4 vipers are damaged or destroyed at game end
Cylon Motive: Food must be at least 2 at game end
Human Motive: Must have at least 1 Yellow, 1 Purple and 1 Blue in hand at game end

At game end, there are 5 damaged vipers and 1 destroyed. Food is at 7. Athena reveals the following cards in her hand:

Support the People 2
Critical Situation 3
Repair 1

Athena fulfils all four of her motives! Three of them were human-aligned.

HUMANS AND CYLON LEADER WIN!

SUCK IT TOASTERS!!!

(Except for Athena. We love you, Athena. Thanks for everything, and congratulations to you, too.)

I was really worried about those Personal Goals, which is why I didn't suggest just tanking the last check. (Apollo, you were in Sickbay like a million times, weren't you?)

I can't believe we pulled that off. I thought we were goners once the Cylons revealed themselves. We had THREE frickin' Centurions onboard, and we fought them all off! We had some good fortune near the end, thankfully. As well as bad fortune. Always bad fortune.

BSG (Baltar)

WOOOO HUMANS! We rock. As does Athena, maybe even more than us actual flesh and blood humans.

I'm glad the Personal Goal I could have revealed but never had a spare action to do so didn't kill us.

That's why I bothered going through the last check. There was an Iron Will out there; if that had wound up in the check, and it had failed badly, you could have lost 2 Morale and the game. Not that I expected it to happen, you'd all have had to screw up very badly, but with Destiny not impossible.

Thrive to spite them

BSG

I can't believe we pulled it off! I wasn't even sure I was on Team Human so I was having to play the middle. And with my motives 2 seemed against the Humans. Every time there was damage to the ship I was pulling for FTL control.

Then I jumped the XO early not so much becuase I could help but I needed a way to try and pull the cards I needed. It did make me feel rather Cylon-y to have helpful cards I had to sit on and not use in order to win.
