I think, you being in Weapons Control, it would make more sense to shoot at stuff, given how much crap is in the air, Sir. Our resources aren't in a dire situation at this time, but the swarm around us is creating another type of situation. Let's clear the air, and then, in the calm of peace, boost the resources.

My reasoning is that the SoE is giving me an action I otherwise would not have had; everything here is a bonus. If it were my actual turn, I would fire on the basestar.
Hot Dog and Athena should pretty much stay where they are, so I'm not sure what they might do. Remember that someone can use an XO or CS; if I get an XO, I can fire on a basestar and try to raise a resource.

The SoE is a crisis action, so we should get rid of the crisis. Unless you have some moral reasons for NOT shooting Cylons???
eta: The same could be said of an XO. Should you not go on the offensive with an XO? You position yourself in Weapons, so when you are tapped, you can fire. YOU HAVE BEEN TAPPED! Now open fire. Sir.
