BSG (Apollo-That-Was)
I'm looking at Cain (for the Blind Jump), Starbuck (for Piloting and Special Destiny), and Dee (for Comms power). If Helo is the other Cylon, I think it's probably more important to ensure he's not Admiral then to have a backup pilot.
If Cottle can guarantee an XO, then I think Cain does make the most sense because we can get out of here now. It's not as great an option if we're going to get hammered for so long we can jump normally by the time I have a chance.

We have a couple of players with difficult work schedules at the moment, hence delays. I think we have everything sorted for the moment, which I'll post in a tick.
Re the current discussion, I think there are a couple of rules issues I should ensure people are aware of.
1. We are using the Exodus rules for the loyalty deck. That means that there is one undealt loyalty card still in the loyalty deck. I'm about to add another card and deal one to Apollo's replacement.
2. The special rule from The Guardians is still in effect. If you destroy any other basestars before the next jump, the fleet will lose 1 raptor and 1 Morale.

Now, a full set of discards. To reach Pegasus, Helo discarded an Evasive Manoeuvre 1. Discards for Apollo's Final Five card:
Baltar:
Executive Order 1, Launch Scout 2
Helo:
Major Victory 2, Executive Order 2
Cottle:
Repair 2, Personal Vices 3
Moving things along, Helo's crisis card is:
Keep Tabs on Visitor
Current Player's Choice
Helo, when you're ready, please post your choice.
BSG (???)
Don't I have to choose my replacement first? I'm waiting for a response from Cottle before confirming.
Eh, whatever, I hate you all, I'm a hardass bitch, I'm Admiral Fucking Cain.
BSG
Don't I have to choose my replacement first?
Oh yes. It's been so long since you were killed, I forgot we hadn't actually done that part. Welcome Admiral Cain, who gets to be the Admiral. Stand by for new loyalty.

I like option 2! Strip Help of some cards. That will teach him for executing the boss.

Ok, hold up for a moment, everyone. I just had a look in the Daybreak rulebook, and on page 16 it says:
"When a player carries out the steps of an execution using Daybreak... During the "Discard Cards" step, he discards his Mutiny Cards and his miracle tokens. He does not gain amiracle token when he chooses a new character, but may gain a miracle token later in the game through game effects."
This means that Apollo's replacement will not have a miracle token and can't use their OPG until/unless they can acquire another one. In the current situation, that means that Cain won't be able to Blind Jump without first acquiring a miracle token somehow.
From the discussion, it seems that the prospect of a Blind Jump was a major consideration in choosing Cain. I think it's fair to allow P-C to change his mind if he wants. P-C, given that your character won't start off with a miracle token, do you still want to choose Cain, or would you rather choose another character?

Administrative note from a while back: Apollo's card draw on his turn exhausted the Politics deck. I've reshuffled the discards.
BSG (Cain?)
Wow, execution sucks even worse now. THANKS A LOT GUYS.
I've put way too much thought into this already, so I think I'll just stay with Cain and we'll see what happens.
