And to clarify another assumption: At the end of each player's turn, he or she will draw a Crisis card. In addition to the crisis on the card, this card may trigger a Cylon action, which are the things billytea listed.
So at the end of Boomer's turn, we have a 50% chance that the raiders will move into sector 2 (unless Boomer is in Sector 1, in which case they will attack her).
In the absence of other events, I am planning on moving Admiral Adama to Weapons Control to shoot at the basestar. This is because the other 50% of crisis cards do things that require a fully functional basestar.
If I can knock out its launch (tubes? stoma?), it won't be able to launch raiders even if subsequent card draws have that icon. If I can knock out its weapons, it won't be able to fire on Galactica...since we don't have a lot (if any) engineering talent in this game, we really don't want to take damage. (I'd like Baltar to come help with this on his turn too...I really want the basestar to go away.)
Which is why I think Boomer should move into sector 1, pound as many raiders as she can, and thus keep the raiders from moving.
BSG
aw hell. Mommy & Daddy are fighting.
Personally, I wouldn't move out of sector 6

Which is why I think Boomer should move into sector 1
But if I move into sector 1, that would be my final action, and then the raiders would stay there with 3 vs 1 + basestar. Strategically speaking, would it make sense to HOLD in sector 6, let CAG go from sector 5 to 4 to defend the civvies, let the Raiders move to sector 2. Then on my next turn, I can lead the RedShirtViper (RSV) into sector 1 to shoot the heck out of the basestar?
(again, still new to this, so, not entirely sure. Sorry for taking so much time on the first turn)
still new to this
Oh me too. Were it not for Random's hint I would have no frakkin clue what to do during a cylon attack.

You're Gaius Baltar. What's wrong with the time-honoured practice of shrieking like a little girl and rushing to your quarters for a fresh pair of pants?

I feel like we are waiting on me, and I'm waiting on clarification of advice from conflicting parties. I'm going with CAG on this one, and holding in Sector 6. I'm not leaving my wingman, even if it is a RSV. I learned something from Maverick!
Game Master, read me my fates. What do the gods say is my crisis.

t ahem
Your crisis is:
Keep Tabs on Visitor
Current player chooses
Boomer, what is your choice?
BSG
Hey, a huge part of this game is managing conflicting advice from the rest of the folks. I mean ,in the show Adama had Saul to advise him.
BSG
I'm going with the Skill Check.
BSG
Skill Check it is! This one is a
12 YGP.
Before playing into the check, I need decisions on interrupts from everyone, per the email I sent out. Twelve hours to send them in (emailed to me or posted here). You can send me conditional orders for your cards for the Skill Check at the same time if you want.
After interrupts are in, the order in which cards will be played into the check is as follows:
Destiny Deck
Adama
Roslin
Baltar
Apollo
Boomer
BSG
Adama puts one card in.
Just for morale, really, because I doubt we'll pass it and even if we fail the check we might not lose population.
