SKYRIM
Question for those who play Skyrim. Was having a geek-out moment with one of my students the other day (It spanned from LoTR, Dr Who, Firefly, and more) and she was amazed I hadn't heard of or played Skyrim. Has anyone played it? Is it a "button masher"? I ask, as it seems there are no demo's for it on Xbox Live, and I really don't want to plunk down money on game types I know I have no chance of playing well.

Hey, Starbuck, would visiting Cally be a good idea?
BSG (Roslin)
Well, given that we all just voted to tank a similar check, I suppose it was the right choice. I'm hoping you buried an attack card.
As a matter of fact...I am not allowed to say, sadly. But, yeah, the choice was a no-brainer.
Skyrim
funny you should ask as I have posted a couple times about my love of Skyrim in this very thread. It is a fantasy RPG with a central plot and many side missions similar to Red Dead Redemption. You choose your race, gender, and appearance at game start and then build your character based on choices you make in the game as you level up. If you'd like to see some of the whacky things you can do on the PC version, Mr. Rhexx has some amazing, funny, and sometimes disturbing videos on youtube. For a gentler tour of the game Felicia Day has a video called (if I recall correctly) My Vast Tracts of Skyrim Landz.

Breaking news! The fair and balanced Caprica News quotes President Roslin as saying, "A trained monkey could do my job!" More at 11!
Skyrim is quite possibly the greatest computer/console RPG in the history of anything. I used to play, until I took an arrow to the knee.

I heard she had a fight with Chief last night, and is still fuming.

All the more intriguing. So? Is it one of those games where you need to hit xxxyxyab to make the hit the fells the beast? Because those types of games, I fail at miserably.

Ok, I'll leave her be. Thanks for the tip.
Hm, I don't seem to have anywhere pressing to be, and Laura is looking a little wan over there. I'll try playing a PP to protect our food supply and give the President the Treatment. 2 green please.

I'm playing on a PS3 and I do use all my buttons but you use one button or a simple combination of buttons to do almost everything, and the in-game tutorial adds abilities at what I found to be a very learnable rate. It's a bit more complex if you are a magic user or use stealth a lot but it's not having to press circle-square-triangle while moving your directional stick in a clockwise circle type complex, more like having to equip the spell you want to use in advance and then remembering where you mapped it, or remembering to sneak before trying to sneak attack or pickpocket someone.
