I have no idea if Boomer is a toaster or not (and wouldn't say anything being in the peanut gallery anyway) but it seems like whatever decision is made about Boomer is the wrong one. I'm sure BT will immediately correct me, but it seems like every time Boomer gets sprung prior to the last Cylon being revealed, she's a toaster, and every time she's left to rot she ends up being human.
I actually went back through the previous games to check this. Here's a little essay entitled "Boomers I have Known".
Game 1: Omnis’ outing. She had a lot of company in pokey. One turn after she landed in the Brig, everyone except Apollo (a Cylon from game start) was in there too. It took six turns to get out – she was the first one to escape, in fact. (Boomer landed back in the Brig after sleeper toaster Roslin got let out and decided to celebrate by arresting her. Good times.)
Game 3: Laga's turn. She stayed in the Brig for the rest of the game, and was very unhappy about it. She was in fact a Cylon, and could've revealed any time.
Game 4: That was my turn. I gave Boomer a shot largely because Laga had had such a bad time with her. She'd become a challenge. I was very lucky, I got dealt the Sympathiser card and Megan's Helo pushed for my release without me saying anything. (As related here: billytea "Gaming 1: You are likely to be eaten by a grue" Aug 26, 2010 1:28:54 pm PDT.) I was out on my next turn. (Unfortunately, I was a toaster, and they paid, oh yes they all paid.)
Game 7: -t had a go. She never even went into the Brig. She revealed at Distance 2 and spent the rest of the game muwahahaing at the crew from the safety of the Cylon locations.
Game 10: chrismg took Boomer. This was a New Caprica game, so even if she landed in the Brig, she'd get out again on NC. Not that it became an issue, this Boomer too was a Cylon from the start and revealed before the Sleeper phase.
And then there's this game. The tally so far:
In games 7 and 10, it never became an issue. Boomer revealed before the Sleeper phase.
In game 4, I was released early on good behaviour (thanks Megan), and went on to wreak havoc.
In game 3, a Cylon Boomer was kept behind bars until game end.
In game 1, a human Boomer was released pretty quickly.
So far, then, the tally seems to be: humans got it right two times out of three, made an unfortunate call one time out of three, and of course in P-C's case the jury's still out (unlike Boomer).
